Massive yawn - can DPReview's articles get any less inspired? Honestly - this has to be absolutely the lamest front page article I've ever seen.
-
Yes - angled - but only because it would actually be extremely difficult to manufacture without some small degree of variability/error.
Fuji are doing at least as good a job of it as any other...
-
It is highly unlikely that the OVF would be intentionally 'angled'. If an OVF is found to be 'angled' then it is almost certainly just due to limitations/variabilities/errors in manufacture.
The...

I don't really follow how the framing could be accurate at one edge but cropped at the other edge.
Are you saying the 'view' is cropped as seen in the OVF (as might be expected) - or are you saying...
-
As 'Macx' has said - what your eyes see/detect, and what your brain actually shows you, are two quite different things.
Also remember, your vision is more like an analogue 'rolling exposure' video,...
-
One of the primary reasons for the gamma encoding of digital images was actually to compensate for the response characteristics of legacy CRT display monitors.
However - it is, without doubt,...
-
I believe 'Steen Bay' was referring to the DPReview 'viewer' - both of which are displayed in the same browser.
The difference must be due to how DPReview is rendering the images - differently...
-
Oops - for some reason I was looking at the XS-1 manual rather than the X20.
The relevant 'memory card capacity' and 'internal memory' spec's for the X20 are actually on p132~133 of the X20 manual...
-
It sounds like you almost answered your own question there.
The camera probably defaults back to a 'small/normal' setting, with no SD memory card installed, thus minimising the resultant JPEG file...

This really is utter nonsense.
All those images are somewhat underexposed, and certainly under-saturated (in large part due to having been shot with a tiny sensor digi-cam, many using high ISO).
To...
-
There certainly is a huge difference between the two samples, but it's not due to the NR.
Look closer, and it's quite clear that the difference is due to a large amount of camera-shake on the...
-
For a fair comparison, and valid conclusion, then your X10 shots really should be of a NR -2 setting too.
I have little doubt the X20 is capable of somewhat better IQ/detail, but if the noise...

Please consider this comment/critism...
Why do so many people feel the need to add such obvious 'vignetting' - it's so obvious, and really is such a worn out photographic cliché.
Photos, of...

As far as the user is concerned ISO only alters the metering/exposure.
Referring to DR as using different 'ISO' is somewhat misleading - the camera always exposes for the set/reported ISO...
-
Well, actually. it isn't under-exposing - because the camera/user ISO is set ISO400, and the metering is for ISO400.
It could only be considered to be under-exposing if the set/reported ISO was...

Just look upon it as a 'challenge', and a potentially valuable learning experience...
Don't bother with colour at all - just shoot B&W - it's a discipline, an art, and a challenge all of its...
-
Sounds to me like you just want an easy life/easy money.
If you want to make money from providing a service to people, you really need to learn to deal with people as they are, and not expect them...
-
I can honestly say that no PC I've ever owned has suffered from the kind of delays you and others here are trying to describe - least of all being caused by the mass-storage (HDD).
Delays of the...
-
That is of course, almost all a lot of complete nonsense - and all quite a funny - I presume you are joking?
The sales rep's at 'Computers-R-Us-Mart' will probably be taking notes from above...
-
Heh - and there's me only having been using/programming computers for a living for the last 30 years - I guess you learn something new every day (not) - LOL!!!
Curious to know - what exactly is...
