My wife has a refurbished D40, now out of warranty. Recently the flash no longer pops up. Is there any way of fixing this other than sending it to Nikon?

The problem with going for a Pro FX body is (for me) the crop factor. I almost always have to crop as it is, and a longer focal length lens is not an option for me.For others, it is the cost.

Not so. People (e.g. me) buy DX for the crop factor. I would by a D4 if it met my requirements, but it doesn't.
