So now silver lenses on black bodies are 'cool'? Pathetic...!
Why doesn't DPR publish photos of the camera when every other photo site has them?
Shame there are no photos showing what each lens can do.
What? No What The Duck?
Good lens and big sensor is the only way for compacts to justify their existence these days....
Will the Oly variant have IBIS? The smaller the camera, the more need there is for in camera stabilisation... Olympus, your move!
Oh dear.... Is DPREVIEW into rumours now?
Markol: Nice camera but the truth is: I can pocket my RX100, the GM1 is smaller, but with the lens it won't fit in my pant's pocket. So I need to carry it in some bag and at that point, the difference between it and the GX7 or any other similar camera becomes negligible, if not even skewed towards the larger, simpler to handle model.
I always have my GF carry it in HER bag. Of course it's easier for her if the camera is an RX100 rather than a GH3...:))
harold1968: These type of cameras should be the real reason for M4/3s, not the bulky E-M1 which became obsolete the day the Sony A7 was launched.
I wish Panasonic the best of luck with what looks like a great camera!
It's not the camera size but the lens size that determines the bulk of a system. In that regard, m43 is hard to beat.
Would be nice if Nikon was equally proactive in addressing their customers' concerns...
D600 ring a bell?
Why not a list of bloopers while we are at it?
Another tempest in a tea pot.
JEROME NOLAS: Great IQ for less money, sounds good to me.
What do you think? Too many cams, so little time.
One question: what's the starting bid at the 'auction'?
I'm thinking of getting two for my 8yo twins.
Earthlight: Hey that looks like a really slick cheese grater.
It also grates nerves.
108: Very nice camera, nice samples. Now the american Amazon retail price new is 546.95 usd, whereas on Amazon germany and france it sells for euros 561. At today conversion rate ( 1.35 dollar for 1 euro ), that puts the" european" 7800 at 757,35 usd equivalent. Given all the talk about free trade and fair treatment to all nations, anyone can explain to me this discrepancy ? Assuming some kind of adjustment for whatever economic/standard of living reason, let's say a 1.15 conversion rate to be nice, that's still 15% more than US retail price. What are we european customers ? Idiots to be milked dry by austerity measures while our american counterparts continue enjoying better prices for the same goods paid with paper printed at will by the FED ?
Not an economy thing. It's a fiscal policy thing. Talk to your local government representative.
Johnsonj: Very nice. I'll get the next one as I just got the 5, 10 mos. ago.
Here's my dilemma: when do I use my RX100? Many times I carry both, the RX100 for pictures and iPhone for video. But that's a pain switching back-and-forth. I love RX100 and know it's better for stills and movies, but the iPhone is convenient, small, useful apps, and it's always with me.
Wish Apple would partner with Sony to combine iPhone with RX100.
Now you have the QX10/100 precisely to solve your dilemma.
