Jacques Cornell's current gear

Canon EOS-1D Mark III
Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G3
Amazingly good camera. Fast & intuitive with great per-pixel IQ.
Amazingly good camera. Great handling & IQ.
Great lightweight all-round shooter. IQ aplenty for very large prints.. Great button layout - can change most settings without taking EVF away from eye.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-G6
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX7

Canon EF 100mm f/2.0 USM
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 45mm 1:1.8
Affordable low-light lens. Very sharp across the frame at all apertures with minimal vignetting.
Good do-everything lens. A bit soft in the corners, especially wide-open, but reasonably sharp in the center. Good for portraits and walk-around use.
Panasonic Lumix G 20mm F1.7 II ASPH
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm F4-5.6 OIS
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F4 ASPH
Great performance for the price. Very sharp, even wide open, to around 150mm.
Worth the price. Very sharp edge-to-edge, even wide open.
Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm F2.8 ASPH Power OIS
Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 35-100mm F2.8 OIS
Other gear:
  • Adobe Photoshop CS4
  • Aperture 3 Couldn't run my business without it. Terrific.
  • Apple Macbook Pro 13" laptop with SSD + HD
  • Benro BH2 ballhead Inexpensive single-action ballhead with great locking power.
  • Benro Travel Angel A1690T tripod Good compromise between ultralight and full-size. Reaches eye level, very compact, full-featured, and sturdy enough for a DSLR + medium zoom. Perfect for MFT and travel. Nicely designed, finished and built.
  • Epson Stylus Pro 4000 Still a fantastic printer, but it requires very frequent (weekly) head cleaning.
  • Giottos YTL 9284 tripod 4-section aluminum tripod for $179 that goes up to 70", collapses down to 20" and weighs just 3.8 lbs. The tallest, smallest & lightest 'pod for under $200. Love it.
  • Godox V850 / Neewer TT850 flash Internal li-ion battery yields 650 full-power pops with a 1.5-second recycle. A game changer.
  • Lumedyne 065 200W flash kit Battery-powered, lightweight & reliable
  • Lumedyne 067 400W flash kit Battery-powered, powerful, lightweight & reliable
  • Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head Great for very precise framing.
  • Metz 28 CS-2 flash Tiny wireless off-camera flash. Great for use with compact camera.
  • Metz 36 AF-5 flash
  • Metz 50MZ-5 flash Wonderful workhorse. Good power, fast recycle, built-in fan.
  • Metz 54MZ-3 flash Extremely versatile, durable and reliable. Manual, auto & TTL output control.
  • Metz P50 power pack Great while it lasted, but a bit of a dud. Lasted only a few years. P76 is MUCH better.
  • Metz P76 power pack Not the lightest, smallest, or most advanced tech, but a great pack. Drives both small and large Metz flash units and doesn't require any batteries in flash.
  • Nik Collection - plugins
  • Panasonic DMW-LVF2 Very nice EVF. Makes GX1 & LX7 better action cameras.
  • Pixelmator Powerful, dirt-cheap and user-friendly pixel editor.
  • PT Lens Great addition to Aperture for correction of lens & perspective distortion.
  • Tamrac 3444 Rally 4 Camera Bag
  • Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Multi-Card Reader for SD/SDHC/SDXC/MS/CF Cards
  • Vivitar DF-183 flash
