JackM: Image 9: look at the size of that thing!!
look at those hipster watches :D
stanic042: I like the lack of moiré and increased detail
corners look good enough to me in this hand-on review http://www.diyphotography.net/first-hands-on-review-of-the-venus-optics-laowa-15mm-f4-11-macro-lens/
I'm ready for it as well..ordered the Laowa 15/4 macro in anticipation :D
I like the lack of moiré and increased detail
despite the manipulation, it only shows real things happeningI like it, it is a kind of a historical photo and I also appreciate the work behind it
iAPX: So sad!
I am in love with Reda, she's is young, she is the new generation, she is insightful, and grounded in the 2010's not in the 1910's. She explain things clearly with a deep understanding of what get we there. I want more EU MEP like her!
I don't care about buildings, I am not a panorama photographer, I do some street photography but it usually doesn't involve copyrighted buildings. Or does it, because a 1900 building could see it's architect dying in the 50's, and the right still existing in 2020?!?
It has just no sense until you just make pictures of a building. But even then, everyone could see it, it's free, from the road. So where is the lost?I think photographying a building is just advertisement, for the architect...
@falconeyesas this was a proposal from MEP, how is this going to weaken the, e.g., Commission?
driftnomore: made in china...if you buy these lenses ,you are helping CHINA to bully more on small countries ,like my country Philippines.CHINA, a country that doesnt spend a single penny on R & D,but makes money by copying and hacking! THINK ABOUT IT,FOLKS !
the company has confirmed in mail, that there is indeed a 14 blade aperture, not 6 and that they are taking down the product photo nr. 3all clear for ordering from my side :D
stanic042: if the optical quality is any good (seems a bit cheap for ultra wide macro lens) this will be a very nice lens for the planned Pentax fullframe
I´m in similar situation, having 50 mm and 100 mm covered, planning to get the hopefully upgraded DFA 300/4 HD :) and with this 15 mm, it would only leave a 20-35 mm hole, which might get covered by the new Sigma zoom...but I would also really like to be able to use the DA 35/2,8 macro, given the Tamron clone of this lens is full-frame and I use the DA happily on the Z1p
hmm, the aperture looks like 6 blades in their product photohttp://www.venuslens.net/product/laowa-15mm-f4-wide-angle-1x-macro-lens/#
apart from manual aperture and some barrel distortion, looks like a winner to me: "excellent image quality" "this lens a small chunk of solid metal"http://sgmacro.blogspot.dk/2015/06/review-of-venus-optics-laowa-15mm-f4-11.htmlanother quick review: http://www.diyphotography.net/first-hands-on-review-of-the-venus-optics-laowa-15mm-f4-11-macro-lens/

John C Tharp: Why make a 'UV' filter at all? Why not start with a protection filter without coatings that rob light?
you mean coatings that help to transmit light
Photoman: I wonder if these adapters will be any good. I thought you only put adapter lens on video cameras? I would prefer a FE 21mm with no attachments on it.
a friend uses nex 5n and the 16/2,8 plus adapter to 12 mm, and I was really surprised how excellent the pics were
Artak Hambarian: Beautiful! Finally colors are coming! Away from the Grayness of the Black! And looks just as solid!
Sdaniella: Correction: WYSIWYG Exposure Simulation (Full M/ISO or AE modes) Live (Pre)Viewaka: ES-LV, or ExpSim LV, or Final Image (Exposure Simulation) Live Preview (FIES-LV)
DPR's:WYSIWYG ... "compensation"is really a fancy word for MANUAL compensation for AE modes to overcome "dumb camera auto exposure modes assume EV=0 till operator chooses better/different"
instead of the disclaimer, why not just list whether it has:1) ES-LV (WYSIWYG): Full-Time, or only part-time.2) ExpSim/FIES LV (WYSIWYG): Full-Time, or only part-time3) AutoGain-LV (Full-Time Framing+Focus Preview Only; minus WYSIWYG ES-LV or ExpSim LV)
its been 15+ years, DPR, it's about time one lists LV capability TYPES, not just lump them all as, LV=Yes/No?
btw:Non-LV dcams/film cams:1) Optical Live Preview (Full-Time Framing+Focus Preview Only (good light only); minus Autogain LV (3) ... never mind minus ExpSim LV (1)&(2)
gooo sdye :)
so, how does it feel liking your own comments?
GodSpeaks: Capture One Pro is far superior to lightroom. Plus you are not forced to 'catalog' everything.
just a tech. q., in what is it superior? and I don´t feel like forced to catalog stuff in LR...
Mike FL: One thing is for sure, you pay less for "Made in China". Such as:
"Yongnuo clones Canon’s ‘nifty fifty’ down to every last detail at half the price (@$69)" per IR.
"the 'build quality seems to be on par with Canon’s 50mm 1.8 II; maybe a *tad bit better*, but not by much.'"
BTW:Actually, you can get it for not $69, but $40 with free shipping.
As an reference a "Leica Lens Coffee Cup Mug" is $45, and " Made in Germany. Never used, only removed from box for this photo". Per seller, Oh yes. " Made in Germany."
have you ever used anything made in Germany?
