On High Quality: Motion Blur challenge (12 comments in total)
In reply to:

BonsaiZG1: Maybe a host of challenges not noticed but there is somehow a standard that is 1600 pixels long side.
That is more than enough to determine the technical quality of photos, and does not take up too much space on the server. 6 mega pixels format is advertising format. I think it's too much for the server capacity. And it costs.
I suggest that a host of challenges to consider the following rule on the size of 6MP photos.
1600 pixels long side is sufficient.
See the rules that RuthC sets.
Yet this is not a professional challenge and there is no reward except the satisfaction of taking pictures.
sincerely,
Zoran Pavlov

Totally agree with you Zoran... not only that, but those large files are too easily stolen and used for some other purpose!!!

sparkey2: So then what is the usual percentage of people that vote in challenges they don't enter. I'll guess very low. I think your voting experiment will be a flop.

I agree with mike... I never vote in a challenge i entry either (and have been DQ'd for not voting in some challenges which stipulate that you must vote) So now I only vote in challenges I enter if It stipulates that all entrants must vote.
I much prefer to vote in challenges I haven't entered...

John Spurs: Thanks for the explanation Buzz. I'm afraid I just can't keep up with new additions to my dictionary. I started my English lessons nearly 80 years ago and one word I learned was "Twilight". I think I'll stick with that. It sounds better anyway.

John Spurs

I agree John, I think the "Blue Hour" came with the digital age when the auto white balance changes from daylight to tungsten to compensate for the yellow lights, making the sky go very blue...This did not happen in the film days...LOL
