This is the most moribund discussion I've ever seen regarding Win 8! If we got any calmer, we'd be asleep!

An excellent view of what it is like to be an office worker anywhere in the world!

What that means is that ACDSee Pro 6 is not a database oriented workflow tool like Lightroom. Instead, it is an image browser based product. It HAS a database, but works just fine without...

Well, as near as I can tell, these are VERY minor tweaks. This does nothing to address the issue that this new OS makes using a mouse and keyboard, more complicated and time consuming. I saw a...

As near as I can tell, they ALL give me a sharp PITA, each in its own special way.

Well, please remember most of the workflow programs like Lightroom, Aperture, and ACDSee Pro 6, aren't just Raw developers, they are Organizers, and distribution and presentation tools as well....

The mix of people this forum attracts hasn't changed much.

The whole point of raw is to maximize choice. An easy raw conversion program would give you jpgs, but just add an extra step into your workflow. If you want easy, stick with jpg.

This is why I'm consciously moving towards ACDSee Pro 6 at this point. I've come to the conclusion that I am not a library type person. See some comments I made on this issue...

Nothing is ever easy is it?

Many editors have a selective soft focus filter. Most of them work pretty well.

Well, in this workflow, "Done" photos don't remain in dng, since they are exported to tif. Only work in progress has to stay in dng. I aslo forgot to mention that I was in the habit of telling Lr...

Wow! thanks! I've got it book marked!

As a database oriented workflow tool, you MUST import EVERY photo into the Lr database. You don't have to use the organizer, but the photo HAS to be in the database. I have decided that I prefer...

I've got a perfectly good IR filter with PSP. I just wondered how one would go about it without a built in filter
-
Yes, ACDSee Pro 6 is a workflow tool not an editor. I wouldn't have guessed though that 'fake' IR would require layers. I have been assuming that IR was a simple filtration of light and adjusting...

Particularly in ACDSee Pro 6?
I've been trying to recreate photos in ACDSee Pro 6 that I've completed in other editors just to see how "complete" the Pro 6 Bit mapped editing experience is.
Of...
