Thank you. It´s an excellent idea to compare these two most tempting cameras on the market today.
Exciting and very promising. I like it a lot, looks sharp and reasonable.
JudgeDread: These silver/gold awards certainly are the most absurd ratings a technical review could ever use. This camera paired with a 20/F1.7 is really an excellent (maybe the best) sub FF mirrorless combo, really small, excellent rendition of human skin at high iso.
Agree, it is best M43 camera to date...
A very unfair review, especially conclusion...I give you silver award for it!Olympuss...
I need exactly the sensor size and resolution modes of my Nokia 808 Pureview, simply best available IQ from mobile phone.
petr marek: Great. Missing Foveon/Sigma, very important benchmark!
To R Butler:In the next few years we might see different types of sensors - organic from Fuji, layered Foveon-like (Sony, Panasonic patents) etc. Will dpreview really ignore other than Bayer sensors in comparsion scene...? In fact I think it might be interesting to have a classical film example - 35mm and medium format.
It worked with the old scene... And it shows clearly the deficiency in true smooth sharpness and decent color rendering of majority of other cameras. You can ad: "Warning - don´t compare with others, might look not so "digital"!!!"
Great. Missing Foveon/Sigma, very important benchmark!
Racing videos in bright sunlight with aperture between 9-11, when everything is in focus, are really awesome to judge autofocus performance! ...NOT.
Comparsion with older cameras is crucial. Older test scene was good enough, I think better (especially shaded things in box) and not so flat.
I think it´s a nice functional grip.Hasselblad is now a very-expensive-grip making company.I think I´ll make this grip myself for coming RX100ll and for saved money I´ll go for a very nice holiday to take some photos.
OMG, this small puppy is the best thing since GH2!Exactly my dream camera. Full HD RAW, active M43 mount with any lens compatibility via adapters, affordable. Thank you Blackmagic, I´m in! Global shutter next year?:))
And next year DP4M with the same sensor and 75mm lens... Another $999 from each fan. And in 2015 new Foveon with doubled resolution but the same bugs and another slow DP serie again, no HD video of course, it´s too much work...How about fixing bugs first, wide RAW support etc. and some invention...?
petr marek: OK, now make another one with M43 mount and I will buy it. Keep your fixed lens, I don´t need it, I can use my Leica Macro-Elmarit with adapter. And hundreds of other lenses...
Why not? You probably think everything Leica is too expensive...:) I must assure you it´s excellent lens for $800. If you want cheaper one, you can buy used one on Ebay for $650.And hundreds of other lenses you can buy and use on M43 mount with adapter...
emircruz: without really telling me how it works..
Can someone school me about Faveon Sensors? What it's good and bad at?
too lazy to google
with enough light better IQ per pixel than any other camera with traditional sensornot suitable for high ISO shooting, slow processing
OK, now make another one with M43 mount and I will buy it. Keep your fixed lens, I don´t need it, I can use my Leica Macro-Elmarit with adapter. And hundreds of other lenses...
But wait, who will buy those overpriced Canon "C" cameras???
Yes, re-branding is easier than hard-working on original inovations. Outselling good photographic name and tradition is an unforgivable sin. New Hasselblad - expensive grip-making company. What would Victor Hasselblad say? Shot the CEO and get busy...!
...Dr. Hansen: “This new model is the result of meticulous engineering research, culminating in the creation of an unprecedented camera which underpins the Hasselblad mission to pioneer and produce supreme quality across all our products.”...
No, it´s NEX7 with added grip. You developed grip. An expensive one. I know it, you know it and God knows it...
My 1st place, excellent photo, great moment! :)
