Exif is reading 700m, but in actuality Focal length would be 1275mm equivalent.Nice shots.

Actually, the D3 image quality leaves nothing to be desired. It is also unexcelled in it's performance with Ai-S Nikkors. More pixels does not a better image make. The D3 shoots fast, has awesome...

The 20-35 is one of my favorite lenses to this day, and I use it regularly. You can't beat it's compactness and build quality.Image quality is right up there too.

I feel the 17-35/2.8 is still a far better lens than the 16-35. Despite glowing sharpness claims for the 16, the 17-35 is far sharper throughout most of the central image, and only falls behind...

It should probably be noted that the TC's performances can vary widely depending on which lens they are deployed on.The TC14 is general great on most everything. The TC20/III is definitely better...

Just a guess, but is there an eyepiece shutter on your camera? Looks likr light entering eyepiece from behind. In long exposures - that needs to be covered.

Depending on what range you want, these are all great lenses, and are all built to Nikon's highest standards, and will outlast most of Nikons latest crop of Pro Glass.AF-Nikkor 20-35mm...

The TC17E-II is sharper than either the TC20E-II or III. It also will acquire and track focus better for moving objects.

Not only would that be awesome, but would be somewhere in the range of 3 times the sharpness and resolution because the sensor would not need the Bayer interpolation of color sensors. Most probably,...

Whatsup with you D800 owners? Is the bloom off the rose?On the other hand, I see (relatively) few D700, D3, D3x, D3s cameras being scuttled. - And many more regretting they let them go.Just...

+1 ....or the D800 for that matter...

How did you Photoshop out all the rain and clouds???

Years ago I had a Leica Noctilux 50mm f/1.0, and I must say that the AI-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 is a better lens in almost every way. The Nocti had better bokeh, but the Nikkor was a lot sharper and...

Both the 1.4 and 1.7 TC's would give you much better IQ than with the 2.0/III.Also faster focusing/tracking for birding/action purposes.

Very doubtful you would see any differences whatsoever between the two 2.8's. VRII i'm sure has slightly better vr abilities, but that's not my thing, and I never use it. You will get sharper...
