On Snowbiker in the Winter in the city challenge (18 comments in total)

a 5-star photo! And, in case you didn't notice, it's the second highest average score ever recorded:

Great shooting!

On Swing Hat in the Elements of nature: Water challenge (2 comments in total)

The exposure is done with flash, not shutter speed. The provided EXIF is probably correct - but not attached to the photo.

Not sure why this didn't rank higher, but I suppose 25th isn't bad. One of my two favorites.

Nice shooting!

On Japanese drawing in the Challenge of Challenges 2010 challenge (13 comments in total)

One of my two favorites. It's a rare catch to get two birds in focus - and, with such beautiful light.

Great shooting!

Thanks. Sorry about not getting back. Your guess sounds very plausible. I took the shot in Sea Isle City NJ.

On Green Scarf in the Side-Lit Portrait challenge (12 comments in total)

That is a haunting photo! I rarely dish out five stars, but this one fits the bill. I also see that it averaged over four stars. This never happens anymore in the challenges.

Congrats & great shooting!

Wow folks! Thanks for all the nice comments.

Caddie - Actually this shot was taken while still on the ground. Of course, I took a boatload of photos. The ones from in the balloon start with #70 here:

You have a very nice lens there. For pure sharpness across the frame, this was my pick. Maybe a tiny bit of fuzziness in the lower left corner, but I had a hard time finding it ;-) Congrats on a fine photo and a high finish.

Nice catch. You are correct - they both have the same EXIF :( So, according to the rules, at a minimum the entrant should have noted the addition.

I know how hard it is to catch three kits in focus. This is a great shot - one of my two favorites. You might try posting a little larger version. Nice shooting!

Apparently, no one looked closely :( Maybe post a little larger image next time.

Nice shooting!

it appears severely over sharpened. Back off on the sharpness setting in your camera. Excellent composition!

Nice shooting, regardless.
