Wow. This was in my top seven in this challenge. Nice sharp shot and fits the theme perfectly. I guess there were a lot of good entries in the voters minds.

On challenge It Looks So Close - 200mm or Greater (10 comments in total)
In reply to:

bolesautomotive: Actual focal length must be 200mm or greater. Sorry no conversions. Crop sensors are named so for a reason, it simply captures less of the field of view of a full frame sensor. This is not the same as a longer focal length image being captured. It simply a FF image missing 40% (or more) of the shot.

" it simply captures less of the field of view of a full frame sensor." But, with a full set of megapixels. You are technically correct, but in reality, there is little difference other than image noise. You still have to deal with similar camera/lens movement.

On challenge Blossoms blossoms everywhere (13 comments in total)
In reply to:

Bren Dyer: Please note. Blossoms refer to blossom trees...apples, peaches, cherries etc

If it's this technical, you need to provide a link to your definition. Maybe this would work:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blossom

Thank you all for the nice comments :)

Of course it was a lucky shot. I was photographing the jay in the back and the other one flew into the frame ending up in focus also - how lucky is that?

The Redbud has faded now, so there won't be anymore more new shots with it's blooms available :(

Wouldn't "wide open" be f2.0?

Great photo regardless!

It truly looks asleep! I have some shots with the lid closed, but only when blinking. Nice catch and congrats on a high finish.

Thanks Ysal. A few days before this was taken when I discovered the occupied den, I nearly stepped on a kit sleeping at the entrance. They blend in perfectly with the leaves on the ground.

This was my favorite of the challenge. You have a couple of dust spots on your sensor, but regardless, a beautiful image. I am going to have to get this lens :)

Nice shootin!

MarioSS: Very nice composition.

Thanks Mario. Unfortunately, I was trying to edit on a tiny netbook without really understanding the software. Maybe this version (using Lightroom) would have done better:

Still not what I was hoping for, but clearly better.
