"the new EF 200-400mm F4 L IS 1.4x lens ... when it is used with an extender ... the combined aperture is F8" Shouldn't f/4 with a 1.4x extender give a combined aperture of f/5.6?

That's taking the comparison too far. Even 1080p is ludicrously better than PAL/NTSC, from virtually any viewing distance on any sized screen. People too readily confuse theoretical resolution...

The 21:9 monitor is not "unique". Presumably they use the same panels as the already-available LG monitor (http://www.lg.com/hk_en/monitors/lg-29EA93).

Dark Goob, it's a bit silly to pretend that "full frame" isn't generally accepted to mean 135-format, however pedantically you'd like to define it. And it's also pretty obvious why people care...

Comprehension is clearly not your strong point, Francis. And it's interesting that you take my comments as being pro-Canon (which they aren't), when all I am doing is pointing out your repetitive...

Poor Francis.. I have no unabashed love for Canon, I just prefer to read sensible comments here, i.e. not your continual boring bashing every time Canon announces something.

-
Haha... pedigree is irrelevant, what matters is quality, price, being fit-for-purposes etc. Why on earth would anyone get upset about a competent new competitor in any class of products? Even...

If a lens is a lens, what's so great about "high end" Angenieux? Yes, I know.. I'm just pointing out your hypocrisy and/or ignorance of cinema lenses. Why can't you leave your Canon hatred at...

If I am travelling, and cataloguing and editing on my laptop, what do I need to do when exporting the laptop-catalog and images to my main home PC (which has the "main" LR catalog)? Do I need to...
-
Sure they should allow you to just open and edit, but you can just import your batch of photos to a catalog, flag and edit to your heart's content, export the resulting JPEGs, and then simply...

Yep,they're only interesting when your favoured product wins.

graybalanced... with the export from laptop and import to PC, and assuming I am transferring the images as well, do you need to have the same folder structure on both devices? What happens if I...

To the DXO people: if I have LR4 and CS6, and potentially want to use this in either program, do I need to buy two copies of your software?
-
And serious replies? What's the difference between this and, say, attaching a long lens via a converter?
-
What's the end result of setups like these - a very long focal length with a very small aperture?
-
No, it's a perfectly good comparison.
