Probably a good idea. I am just of the opinion that a beginning photographer who wants to truly learn how to use a camera should have the 3 controls - aperture, shutter, and ISO - at their...

2 prominent dials to control aperture and shutter. So, yes it is a good beginner's camera. Price is a drawback though. I'd probably steer a new photographer towards a used 40D or D90 personally.

I don't think inflation is an issue, as it doesn't seem to come into play with other cameras too obviously.
I think they will price it at $1299 body-only to differentiate it from the E-P5's price....

Yeah - I was waiting for someone to post this.
Body only is $999. I'm of the opinion that it's priced exactly $100 too high for the body, and the bundle price is just too high compared to the...

How big and what is your budget?

This camera should be called the EOS 650D Firmware Update Edition™

It's not "designed" for the GH3. It is designed for micro 4/3's mount cameras. Sorry, but that doesn't invalidate the test. The notion that a lens is designed for only one camera body does not...

Agree with all previous comments. Both are good. However, as a Mac user I am concerned about how the new iMac is almost completely sealed off. At least you can get to the ram on the 27" model. I...

While I'm a bit miffed at the 2.8 aperture choice, considering the other options available (it's not as if the x100 is a bad camera, after all), I am overall very pleased with Nikon and others for...

I realize what it's doing and have a pretty fast connection here (15mb down at its' best). The server may have been flooded this morning, or possibly my imac was doing something wonky. Or the...

I agree with Sergey that ergonomically it could be a bit bigger. Perhaps then it would not be an OMD though?I like the layout of the E-M5 very much but feel it it could benefit from about 1cm of...

My update took so long that I didn't even have a chance to try it before leaving for work.

I can't speak for the PC side of things, but this morning I set out to update my E-M5. I hadn't updated the software on my Mac (running Mountain Lion). Couple things I noted:-Unlike past connects...

I'd only use the flash for fill. For better results a bounce is needed.

Hi - I see you live in Arizona. Did you, by chance go to the Chinese Cultural Center in Tempe yesterday or the day before? If so, it was getting pretty hot the past two days (mid-90's) and if...

I think there will be an E-P5. And the only support I have for this feeling is one pic I saw of the E-Pl5. It was a top-down shot, and inscribed clearly on the top plate are the words "Pen...

While I'm excited Olympus stuck the E-M5 sensor in the new cameras (I own it and it is fantastic), they and other companies make some mind boggling decisions. Two that I don't understand:1) EOS...

Working properly now. My guess is that I hit an ad inadvertently and refreshing the site kept taking me back to the page somehow. iOS/Safari glitch.

Actually browsing to the site on my iPhone. No anti-malware needed. There may still be a problem on their site (only redirected with certain browserid?).
