I agree.  I also own the 35 f2 IS which gives me a fast low light prime as well as IS on the wide end.

it's like using a 50mm prime on a 1.3 crop which I did not care for.  the lens that would be nice in the 28 f2.8 IS but I know you probably want to save money. my light set-up is 5d3 + 35 f2 IS...

Bill -- I was there in june for the first time.  my wife and I took a road trip and had a blast.  can't believe I waited that long!  well i'll be back for six days on the 23rd! can't wait :-)!
