Thanks a lot Larry for the comparison! Yes, indeed, on these pics it looks like this zoom lens is quite on bar with the DP*M prime lenses ... quite impressive.

Very atmospheric picture! Very impressive.

Thanks for letting me know and sharing this additional pic!
I really like the contrast of these new lenses (35mm 1.4 and 18-35mm 1.8) ... Sigma seems to have made an improvement in this area as well.

Thanks a lot for this interesting series of pics! On the 24mm pic, the lower right hand corner seems to be soft. I am a bit wondering if this is the case because this area is outside the DOF, or is...

I still would keep the 35mm 1.4. Mine is very sharp and the contrast is excellent. Plus you can use it on full frame, if Sigma every decided to go this way with their cameras.
-
Thanks a lot for the comparison Rick! This was something I was quite interested to read about. Hopefully soon Sigma will release a new prime wide angle lens as well (24mm or 20mm).
-
Thanks Lin for making this clear. As I said, I think the picture should speak for itself. My prime interest when looking at a picture is not to know first that the camera was attached to a...

Same here, I hardly ever crop my pics. But for some reason the...

Please stop showing such pictures!!! I am just trying to get used to the gray and rainy autumn days over here in London. Your pictures are not helping ... Just kidding ... amazing place and...

I just visited Tokina's website to see what other lenses they have in the lineup ... quite surprised to see that they only produce a few wide angle zooms and one macro lens nowadays.
-
Ok, I would ask to try them first in a shop before committing just to see if there are no green corners. I tried the 25mm 2.8 Zeiss ZF lens on the Sigma SD1M and the final pics had green corners.
-
The info is not correct: When the SD1 was first released, using non-Sigma lenses was not possible: The final pictures would have all really extremely weird colors. The firmware upgrade actually...

I think the second picture is outstanding!

I don't agree with the statement that every picture has to be worked on in the raw converter to get the best out of it. I think too many (and I am not excluding myself from this) blame the camera...

Ok, oh well, rumors .... A Sigma 24-105mm f/4 OS would certainly make a nice travel lens! This is definitely currently missing in the Sigma lens line-up. I would be tempted to get such a lens for...

Thanks a lot for your feedback! You should certainly visit this beautiful country - there is a lot to be seen! I haven't tried BW conversion for ISO 1600 yet ... I'll give it a go when I find some...
