I would go for the Panasonic 14-45. This lens would be a nice upgrade to the kit zoom. It is sharper and has better contrast as well. Definitely worth the money.

As promised the pictures. The EVF seems big with the 20mm but rather small with the 9-18mm. Sorry for the poor picture quality, I took the pictures with my old iPhone.

I have an E-PL5 and the VF-2. Perfect combination, no eye sensor though. So you have to switch manually between the LCD and the EVF. It's never fallen off, is high resolution, nothing to complain...
