Where's the article about the 3d printed SLR? All I'm seeing here is a chunk of plastic with real camera parts shoved into/onto it.
Nice. Looks somewhat (give or take) spec-like to the Sony A57
My home town!
I see it mainly in the pics at wide (24mm)
Yeah that is serious Vig! Although I could live with it if the price was right. As a faster short zoom, I'd say it would get a good amount of low light use and then it wouldn't really matter to me all that much. Looks rather sharp! That darn CZ I've been eyeballing for the past year is out of my budget!
Glad to see you have some photos wide open. A few in more challenging environments would be great!
Dpreviewmember: After reading your article I found that Hugin is a great free program to seamless stitches, and PhotoWall to easily build artistic collages.
I have to agree with others that today you can work, even on a modern laptop , with full resolution images, to build 2D panoramas for wall size prints for instance.
For an extreme example I fund a 3D collage, of more than 1600 21.4MP photos landscape from Dresden. Made with a robotic arm, of course, and stitched using a PC cluster with 16 processors and lots of RAM in 94hrs, you have to check this out :
The Gigapixel Dresden is flippin cool as hell.
$849 for body, lol entry level?.. that's hilarious. For $650 you can treat yourself to a Sony a57 which has already nailed all this technology and then some, ( minus the touch screen/useless) and all without a floppy mirror.
KennethDante: weather sealed for 850 bucks. wow this is a lot of camera for this price point. If I didn't just get the a57, I would be all over this. I really like the extra thumb jog too. ouch just stumbled on the missing external mic and hdmi out.
1/6000 shutter!!! :O

Since the msrp seems to have eluded me in this review. Maybe I can save someone else the trouble.
(between $8,500 and $9,000).
