Hi,
I hope this isn't too much of a comedown from discussing the heights if HDV. I'm shooting stills plus video for promotions of a conservation not-for-profit, using my stills cameras for video...

Thanks Dionis,
You sound like you have your GH3 technique well sorted - a koala stamp for using that tripod!
I only have the kit lens - a good kit lens it is - and Nikon adapters. I really liked my...

Fantastic. Thank you so much for all this advice. Tremendously helpful. Apologies that I didn't reply last night (downunder) but by the time I digested all the info, followed links and researched...

Wouldn't it cost you a fortune in data fees?

I've just read many threads on this digital video forum, with the wonderfully informative posts. An amazing forum. But the answer to my question eludes me.
I'm a staff photographer shooting field...

Thought I should complete this for Techart's sake, after a long absence.
My supplier made some undisclosed mistake, and had to send me a second unit, which I received some months after ordering....

You might also check the price on the Nikkor 24mm TS lens. And a 24-70, and the 45mm...
If you're scrimping on old cameras (nothing wrong with that - I recycle, too!), then you might want to save...

If you're intending to do wide angle tilt-shift work, you should check that DX will do the job for you. Wide tilt/shift lenses are generally intended for FX.
BTW, you can adapt Nikkors to your Oly,...

It only autofocusses with AF-s lenses, so if your 50mm is AF-d, you will need to manually focus (but its bright and very sharp). Metering and VR work with D lenses.
A Nikon V1 or V2 kit without the...

The modified TC16A will AF very quickly and accurately on a D300. I haven't used the 600mm f4, but it works fine with 500 f4 and 400 f3.5.
You work in a manual focus mindset, allowing the AF to...

This is just from fading memory but will be roughly correct: the D100 was about $4000 in Australia when it first came out (I remember because I didn't have the money); the D200 was about $2500 body...

There was also a detailed discussion on this last year:

Of course they'll make a pro-grade DX camera. Nikon make cameras for a living. But don't be disappointed when you see the price. I suspect the mythical D400 (by any other name) will be closer to a...

This ability to shoot stills while videoing (or videoing during stills capture, depending on your world view) is growing in importance, as photographers are asked more and more to supply both.
But...

Yes, also surprised that diffraction is not dicussed, but as an advantage. My question is, with the interplay of effective speed, reduced focal length, sharper image and different depth of field,...

So has anyone actually taken delivery of a Techart EOS to NEX AF adapter, or is it an eBay scam?
-
Also look at what else you can buy for the price. Remember that sharp and fast equals focal length these days, with high resolution cameras that can be cropped.
I mean, a 300mm f4 prime would...

You scared everyone away by asking for an expert!
The nice thing about photography is that no one's an expert. Every new exposure is a new experiment. Sometimes we're right, sometimes we're wrong....

Sorry for the slow answer.
While most shots were focused behind, some were in front, and the error varied, so I got the impression it wasn’t any adjustment problem, just normal hit and miss AF...

I’m a bit late to this but I use both lenses (Tamron SPVC and Nikkor EDVR 70-300’s) on three formats, so thought I’d report the differences for future reference.
Optics:
The Tamron SP is...
