Check these photos out. A soft box 2 meters away, i am sure there is no triping hazard. This people run among trees and logs. I am sure a flashgun can be set in a very safe place. Would it work...

Would this work out?I mean public races, you know 10K, 20K, maybe marathons.Me with a 200mm lens,
+2 flashguns radio triggered (with a soft box or not ) just for fill + maybe some more dramatic...

My keeper rate... there is no keeper rate actually. There is a different approach. I dont have even the time to delete (the few) oof images or any. I just massively upload for the customers to...

Great an option for my 1ds3 too, would be great!

Hello,
I am a sports photographer, and each weekend i came home with 5-6K (32-45gb average) of sRAWS.
As i get more and more into the "market", i come back each weekend with more & and more &...

Up to this thread.
I've been lurking to a 70-200f2.8IS II, and they have a VERY good price, that makes you wonder. Actually as good as Hong Kong Prices, but they deliver from UK, which is great.
I...

Shot raw, and set identical WB.
even then light is not continuus as your eyes see it, electricity is not continues either, so in artificial light there might be some flactuations in HUE due to WB.

Is this gallery with the Sigma 300mm 2.8??

Thanx very much for the input. My thoughts exactly.
As you can understand my main "competition" nowadays, is not other pros, but semi-amateurs*, with a DSLR and a decent zoom, that like to brand...

My main sector as a photographer is running events.
I use 1ds3, FF that is.
Right now my main lens is 70-200f4, but i want something with a more "stunning" effect, to get me further from amateur...

Thanx very much , this is exactly what i was interested in.Do you find that you miss the zoom? i.e. 70-200 in these events?Do you get a chance with the 400mm prime, to get a "frame" of each runner,...

...?
Due to AF issues?
What is your opinion?
I would like this lens for personal use, but also would like this lens for semi-pro use, in sports events, mainly indoor track-n-field.
My body is...

I currently use the 70-200F4IS which is fabulus, but i am thinking of alternatives for photos that have a different effect on them, and take me one step further from "cheap" lens photos...

above's hands are a little soft, due to slow shutter speeδ, i admit it needed somewhat better shutter speed, but 1/1000 would be adequate. This one is 1/1250.
and its absolutely frozen

Hey there,Dont get me crazy,
1/800 is more than enough in an 200mm lens!
Especially if you have IS!I've done it in thousands and thousands of images,
I've even shot with 1/160, but ok, this was...

+11/6400 is an exaggeration, so f2 and iso 400 can go away.In sports even 1/1000 is more more than enough (i have shot with much less) so you can figure out what you may lose.framing is nice, but...

It is a great place and spot and moment, but not a great photo. Colors are really suppressed, could be B/W almost, and information very limited.

If I may critic you, I see too much sky above the picture.
Framing is not too my taste. It is a spot with potential though.
