Other gear:
  • Sony HVL-F60M Flash This flash comes with a nice collection of extras including a sturdy clip-on flash diffuser, illumination lamp, lamp filter, and M->AM hotshoe adaptor. I purchased this for a very good price, not much more than the HVL-F43M. However, the F60 is very large, quite a bit bulkier than my old F56. Therefore, I would suggest that the more compact F43 might be a better choice for many people, especially if they have can buy the hotshoe adaptor for their old F56 or F58 flash and resort to it only when required. The user interface design is much easier to use than on the F56. Finally, I'll note that the flash exposure seems astonishly accurate compared to my previous A580/F56 combination. I don't know whether the exposure issues with this older setup are due to the A580, the F56, or both.
