Well fortunately Android users aren't limited to stock software and can easily download pano software that can do large panos. Can you do that with any other iPhone?

Pro DX without any of the "pro" features? I don't think so. At best the D7100 has the top Nikon DX sensor, that doesn't make it the Pro DX Nikon. First class sensor, third class body.

It still wouldn't be the pro body D300/300s shooters want, and would still have lower pixel density than a 6 year old D300, not a great help for wildlife shooters.
It might satisfy some of the...

And they would rather sell 5 $2,000 cameras vs 1 $5,000, multiple $2,000 camera sales also multiply their lens sales. The D4 is as much a marketing and bragging rights tool as it is something to...

My first thought was "is it water proof", doesn't look like it.

Great shot, and what terrific camouflage, almost chameleon like in how well it blends with the bark.
-
Quick enough! Looks like it didn't have any trouble tracking it.

That's quite the ringing endorsement for the D7100 Jim, it sounds very promising. Did you have a chance to try it on moving subjects yet?

I took advantage of one of our rare winter clear skies to shoot the moon. Shot hand held with a Nikon D300s & Sigma 50-500 OS.
Full size is a 100% crop, B&W conversion, which really didn't make...

How about 1/3 the price? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/549248-REG/Sigma_728306_120_400mm_f_4_5_5_6_DG_OS.htmlNo extra charge for hood and collar.

Cheap of a price? For just a little more you can have a Sigma 120-300 F/2.8, that's a hell of a deal compared to this Nikon.
-
$3,000 for a F/5.6 400mm zoom? No thanks, I'd rather get the Sigma 120-300 F/2.8 and 1.4x TC for just a little more.I hope it ends up being a stellar lens for those who buy it though.

I specifically said active users, not uploads. It doesn't matter how many images people upload, it's how many users we're trying to figure out. If you add the 300 and 300s users (which I also...

No, the 1.3x crop does not make DX wide angle any wider, it makes it narrower. The crop on a D7100 is the same idea as cropping on a D600 or D800, it just uses less of the sensor. The typical 1.5x...

Breaking down the Flickr Nikon DSLR active users numbers even finer:(D40, 50, 3000...etc) 68%(D300/D200/D2X) 12% (D800/D700) 11% (D3/D3s/D4) 6%(D600) 2% It will be interesting to see if, or how...

Based on what? If we look at camera usage numbers from Flickr, in spite of it's age and all the newer cameras the D300/300s (combined) is still in the top 5 most active Nikon cameras every day. The...

I think many of the "this is the D400 upgrade" people have never shot with the D300, 700 or 800. There are certainly a lot of people who seem to have fallen for the idea that if it has a higher MP...
