Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 is only a bit more expensive than the Samyang 16mm f2, but the difference is not that small.

The price of 16mm is very expensive. It is more expensive than the FF 14mm. I'd buy the zoom lens Canon 15-85mm instead.

Can the camera be mounted on tripod if most lenses without tripod ring are heavier than this camera?

I have waited for such lens since firstly owned DSLR. Even though, I am about to move to mirrorless camera Canon EOS M. If I have lens adapter, I'll buy Samyang.

Jelly Bean vs Ginger bread

Nikon fights back with a cheaper price but Samsung has higher tech. The more competition, the better price tag and technology. so, the winner is the consumers who demand for lower price but higher tech.

Extremely interesting!

I wish to see a higher class camera from Samsung with equivalent sensor to the mirroless camera.

cgarrard: NO raw, 14mp, small sensor, looks like more soft mush porridge :)

A lot of some people don't like RAW in super zoom compact, but I definitely agree RAW is very important.

I prefer to spend extra $100 to get a better camera with RAW.

Absolutic: so is it like a toy for people who cannot afford a real DSLR so they can pretend they have a DSLR?

I prefer Panasonic FZ200 too especially for the RAW format and its bright F2.8.

Nikon is innovative to the new era in camera OS. I love it!

Canon should have released the higher class super-zoom compact with RAW format, latest Digic and good ISO performance like Panasonic FZ200.

Koulang: 10MP is a bit funny for modern camera today. It reminds me about the Canon EOS M which has 18mp asp-c sensor.

I totally agree 10MP is usable in most situation, but considering its competitors giving more than that. Sony and Samsung Mirrorless have 20+ MP and Canon EOS M has 18MP. We always prefer the better equipment.

When resize the 20MP to 10MP, IQ will be better and less noise. If the J2 can perform as low noise as 5D3, it surely has better IQ than Canon EOS M at high ISO, but if they have the same noise level, EOS M has advantage. In other word, if J2 even has higher noise than EOS M, its image quality would be farther different.

No RAW file!

It would be perfect if RAW file has been included and OS have been Windows or Android!

Koulang: Why there is no wide angle or tele lenses like 10mm, 200m or 300mm for mirroless camera?

I miss Panasonic 100-300mm. Thanks for telling me!

I refer to pancake lenses because I saw the IQ of the 40mm being excellent and good price too. If 10mm Pancake or 300mm would take away some photographers from big DSLR.

12MP hardly satisfies the users. I would be excellent if it features 16PM like its younger brother FZ60. 12PM was good if it came out 3 years ago, but now it is the lowest.

Dpreview please re-shot RAW file at ISO 1600. It looks out of focus here. If you compare the 650D between RAW and JPG at ISO 1600, you will see the JPG has more details and cleaner image.

Out of focus RAW images from 650D at ISO 1600 onward?

I see blurry images from 650D at ISO1600 onward. It looks like out of focus image. You can clearly see the toy's nose.
