I have that lens and you are going to have to shoot at the long end with a smaller aperture to get sharp images. Wide open will not do. Most lens are that way.

Tamron 70-300 USD is a pretty good lens.

Sony will put an extra lens or two for correction in camera. Other than that, Sony wants you to buy a new camera for any significant improvement.
