I really like the SEL1670 but I have had mechanical issues with it, every once in a while it seems to lose its connection with the camera (i have cleaned the contacts several times). I don't want...

Are you aware that you can adjust the program line on the K5II such that it favors higher shutter speeds. it is on tab #3 of the shooting menu, i wouldn't expect it to be a magic pill but every...

They will probably regret this but I got email that Sony is soliciting product suggestions/feedback and this week is digital imaging week..

Thanks for that article, very informative (and possibly expensive)!

I definitely think that it is a juvey coopers hawk as it had the polka dot legs.

Thanks for all the comments!
I apologize for mis-identifying the bird, I mistakenly thought that "kestrel" was a generic term for hawks but a little googling has left me red faced on that topic..
I...

If it has a major increase in MP (more than 24) I would suffer greatly and feed my credit cards to an alligator but otherwise I will live with my K5IIs.
I guess it is a matter of opinion but if I...

Robbo,
I have a K5IIs and almost all the lenses you mentioned and I find it to be the best focusing dslr I have used, better than my former D600, especially in low light!
However, I always use only...

This evening I glanced out the window just as a kestrel glided to the ground, with a dove in his talons. Not a common sight. Of course, I jumped up and grabbed my K5 with the 50-135 welded on and...

Most of the non-destructive editors add a 2nd file with the changes, I don't use PMH so I can't comment specifically but it is not uncommon with image editing programs.

In fairness, DPReview does have forums devoted to actual photography and photographs, they are in the forums list, they just don't start with a brand name!

Seems to me as sharp at 70 as it is at 45..
Bottom line, it is a very nice f4 zoom, it is pricey but not as pricey as the Canon 24-70L F4 so it is in the ballpark for these kinds of lenses.

Beautiful! The butterflies near me are all hyperactive and hard to photo.
The lens has nice close up ability, have you ever had the lens make any strange noises? Every once and awhile, mine...

I have to ask..
Has anyone else had their 16-70 make a whirring noise? It was pretty loud and lasted about 5 seconds. That is the only strange thing the lens did today and I am trying to convince...

I cant speak for the 5R but i have an em5 and later got a nex6. I was disappointed that the nex6 high iso was not better than the em5, image quality wise they are very equal, my EM5 focuses...

I think the more electronics, the less reliable. The 24 1.8 has been very reliable but does not have OSS. Still the two sony's are the only lenses that I have ever had problems with and both are...

My first thought was to clean the contacts which i did and that seems to have helped. from time to time the lens does make interesting sounds. i will give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes,...

If I were you, I would buy a good book / take a class in basic digital photography before spending money on equipment. You will save a lot of time and money and be happier in the end.

My track record with Sony is not too good. 35 1.8 had odd focus problems and I returned it and now new 16-70 has had some hiccups (will give it a few days but if past experience is any guide it...
