Yes. I know ;-)
But you forget to mention that they also removed the Optical Low Pass, or AA filter that softens the image before it hits the photosites. That's why they created a more "random"...

There are also twice as many green pixels in a Bayer configuration. The Bayer, XTrans and EXR sensors all have twice as many green pixels than either red or blue. But the number of green pixels is...

Could be Moire, or the effect of dual-tone fabrics. Can't tell unless you show the actual size photos.

Two Things:
(1) The distance between pixels on the display is less than 3 pels between strokes on the captured images. That's smaller than a single X-Trans block.
(2) The printed image sample...

This bodes well for Apple's Final Cut and Aperture will quickly evolve to to include Photoshop-like image editing. Remember, you saw it here first!

$500+ every year for the suite that I often use? Camera shake and the new AE features are good but being held hostage for not being able to save to legacy files? Screw this!

Here's a SilkyPix sample from the original RAW. All things considered, it's not better than LR's in my opinion:

Yup. It will keep the shutter at 1/1000 and adjust the aperture in Program mode. You can't get any higher than that shutter speed in that mode.

Have to agree. In addition, an OVF saves battery, updates faster (get it?), and the 85% limit really ain't a limit (especially for us film vets!) since 85% is really just less than 5% off the sides...

While it is reasonable to assume that the mechanical leaf shutter of the X20 can't go faster (or function reliably) at 1/1000 at any aperture, I don't see why 1/1000 would be a problem for action...

Indeed. But here's the puzzle: How come there are some situations where grass is rendered as mushy? Your demonstration show that the high contrast spirals do not show any of that effect. I do...

Interesting. What this show is that if you don't look closer than 100% of the image, the green issue does not really matter. One thing that I forgot to mention is that, with my spirals, the...

Good point. Normally, all you need is to set a shutter speed slower than the refresh rate. IIRC, my shutter speed for my captures are at 1/20. Besides, a side effect of refresh rate miss-sync is...

Indeed. Cameras are just tools and ultimately, we are the photographers! While a better camera does help in making a better picture, no amount of camera will save you if you are a bad photographer...

It's also possible, however unlikely, that Adobe's X-Trans RAW converter is the culprit. I can have have the RAW files available if anyone is willing to convert them from SilkyPix for...

If your target is an LCD/TFT backlit display, there will be a angle where the colors and images from the display will merge and eventually the lower contrast will affect the results. I was using an...

Indeed, however, there are people whose life seem to revolve around the hobby of pixel peeping and losing the joys of actually appreciating the whole composition!

Or perhaps use a different demosaicing algorithm altogether!
