Please remember, two photos from each entrant are required, one should be the finished 'cover', the other should be the main original bird photo.

POTH : I have chosen two Picks from this challenge, this one has had a great deal of thought put into it, looks very professional, certainly good enough to have been a real cover for the song :)

POTH : I have chosen two Picks from this challenge, this one caught my eye right away, the soft focus on the text works perfectly, and the overall look is wonderfully suited to the song :o)

Wildbegonia: So beautiful, so far sheer joy to see. It should be a repeat sometime next.

I would be happy to do repeats, perhaps after or during as many variations on the theme of cats as I can come up with ;)

fenomeno: Is the rule regarding live horses suspended?

Hi, no, at the moment I do DQs at the close of entries so they were seen to last night.

RJB138: Clarification please - Cats AT windows - as seen through the glass or can the cat be in front of the glass (either interior or exterior)?

Either side is fine, I didn't want this challenge to be too limiting :)

I gave more than fair warning that non-silhouettes should be withdrawn and suitable entries submitted instead [ if available obviously ], oh well, DQ central this time, such a shame :/

NZ Scott: Shouldn't album covers be square? I think square crops should be one of the rules.

Too late now, I guess.

I thought it would be obvious, [ more fool me lol ] so in this instance the voters will probably [ hopefully ] take that into account, however I should have included it so will be doing for the rest of the album cover challenges :) There is time for entrants to edit and resubmit at least, hopefully some will do so !

fotoselect: I suggest that all challenge allowing free use of P.P. will be a double entry, including the original, before appling P.P.

Good idea, I will instigate that into the challenges for the rest of the album cover set :)

Addendum : The idea was for 'traditional' seasons, for this challenge would mean past photos being used [ due to 'A duel version of the seasons set will be run in which entrants can try to repeat/better their shots and show comparison,' which would be for this years photos ] however apparently there are three versions of the seasons, the traditional, the meteorological seasons, and the astronomical seasons. One of these variations does include February therefore I have decided I will allow Feb shots in order to be fair :)

In reply to:

summicron: would february in central america be considered spring?

Not really, I do like to be flexible where possible but I have to keep to a reasonable degree of generally accepted seasons' months so Feb would be pushing the line too much I'm afraid :/

In reply to:

howard23: what is a tickable dpr option and what does it have to do with challenge?

Hosts have only two option for setting capture dates - to either instigate one or not, so the range of months for this challenge did not have an applicable option for me to tick while setting the challenge options, hence as its a Spring months challenge the capture dates range has everything to do with it lol

libertylady: My understanding is that there must be some kind of manmade element with the bird. Is that correct?

It is yes - I do allow some flexibility for 'outside the box' thinking but too far from theme will have to result in DQs

I'm deleting any comments/questions which may lead too easily to entrant ID during voting, if your comment is one of them please don't be offended, I just want to maintain the integrity of all entries :)

ysal: @Wildbegonia - I live in Southern California which may be much warmer than other places but it's still winter here. It is 65F right now compared to 100F in the summer.

Its not about the temps, I am going through entries now to check the capture dates ;)

My apologies, I missed taking out the no humans or other animals in shot rule, humans ARE allowed in this challenge, so to reiterate, its about bonding moments, between two or more cats, or one or more cat + human/s

Love the idea, would be happy to be included :)
