This will be my new P&S camera. period.
Good article. Thanx.Personally I never go to a restaurant that has pictures of their food or meals displayed in the menu. Usually a tourist-trap alarm. :)
Too bad you can't make phone calls with this device. But seriously I think the WiFi is an interesting feature. Connectivity is hot. Maybe they should have added GPS to make the camera more attractive.
Merry Christmas and a happy new year from Holland. Thanks for all the good stuff.
newe: Needs on-line activation...plenty of other programs as good, cheaper, no online activation nonsense...move on.
Reading this thread I decided to have a go with that Flare-app. It really works well for 10 dollars. it will do most tricks very easy. No need for expensive filter-software.Thanks for the tip.
HiRez: I look forward to the day when these can ship as true plugins to Aperture and Lightroom, when they can work non-destructively within the app 's workflow.
Getting tired of all the meta-comments whether phones announcements should be in dppreview or not.clearly smartphone-cameras and P&S cameras are converging so smartphone-news is also camera-news.
Adapt !, the world's changing.
kwa_photo: No issues, as always. A great update and the Photo Stream works as expected with iCloud :-)
10000 euros for a wooden camera. LOL . What person would by this ? You probably only use it for night photography when no one can see you ugly gadget. This world's gone crazy.
Very nice article, thank you.
The socalled ' Pros' of course already know this stuff and instead of making pro-pictures they obviously spent their time reading this article and submitting negative comments. Unemployed pro's probably.
Tom Goodman: The manufacturers can invent new labels for cameras nearly as quickly as they can variations for existing ones. "Enthusiast" is perhaps the most pernicious of these labels. The S95 and its competitors within this dubious category are simply inadequate to make quality images (and here's the important part) for anyone who has more than "enthusiasm" for photography. Any time I have taken my S95 with me instead of my Nikon D300 I have regretted the decision.
then sell your S95.
(unknown member): Wow – Am I tired of all your negative chat. This is by all standards a very good camera. Where else could you get so much that can fit in your pocket. 24mm f2.0 is a must have, and going to 120mm is pure cherry on the top extras. GPS is great too. I wonder how many of you dimwits out there can appreciate it. If the pics are as good as or better than my Ricoh GX-100 then this baby is going to replace it, even if I have to wear the Canon logo on my forehead.
hear hear. .
100 bucks a year to store some pics. Funny guys there at Adobe. Dream on.
I wish someone could make a CF-wireless card.
Strong candidate for my Panasonic-LX3 replacement later this year.
