Very nice picture. Well done.

The comments are hilarious. My advice: ignore them all.
"Sunglasses", "underexposure" and my favorite: " a waste of time" . LOL

Downloaded it. Very nice. Thank you Google. The new reality anno 2016. Buying up software companies , then after a change of strategy , a product becomes out-of-focus, and is given away for free.
Anyway, I like it but I hope nobody paid 149 dollars for it last month.

Nice Photoshop-promo. Well done. I like the pics a lot. Amazing effects you get when you enlarge the dog or shrink the kid.

A strong candidate for a back-to-the-future article in 2023. Kinda like that camera with a built-in beamer.

subscribed for a year last year but I cancelled my account earlier this month. I got an e-mail that 'warned' me for the upcoming renewal and a link for an easy opting-out. I think that's very decent of them.

Snaaks: Sold my 550d and got a 100d . So far i am quite impressed with the IQ and the small form factor. Even the kit lens amazes me.

Get a life dude (or buy a 100d or any cam for that matter and start making pictures instead of pouring your acid rain over us)

On article Dpreview Recommends: Top 5 Compact Cameras (559 comments in total)

aha, so this is a roundup and not a review. I learned that today after reading this article and the comments.
A roundup is a comparison of 5 randomly picked items that completely differ in price , quality and specs.
Interesting.

Very good quality.
although i think the audio has been taken from an external source. As the film guy walks across the stage, the sound character stays roughly the same. At some point the filmer is very close to the drummer, you'd expect much noise from the drum kit but the balance of instruments is unchanged.
However the video quality is outstanding.

Very interesting technology/approach. Can't wait to see some real sample pics from a review.

I bought the SX230 HS last year as and easy lightweighted alternative to my bulky DSLR set 5D with the lenses) as I was diagnosed with a herniated disc in my neck. I also have a panasonic LX3. I really like the SX230 for the P&S pics. The quality relative to the 5D always amazes me , the GPS is very , very handy on trips and filming is also very good. You can use the zoom while filming without disruptions or noise.
I highly recommend this camera, however the 260SX offers little useful advantages for 230-owners to upgrade. I don't have 12 friends to program into my memory and the increased zooming from 14x to 20x isn't really a benefit without bringing a tripod.
I'll skip this year's upgrade , although it is a very good camera in it's class.
