Hard to say, I had a few good ones. Still considering this one the best:

Yes, a lens can be too sharp for a specific purpose. Specialized portrait lenses are often intentionally soft. I know exactly what you mean about 20/1.7 -- I have some photos that look...

State Farm in the US has "Personal Property" policies that can be used to insure photo equipment. The rates are actually very low, about 1% of the value, and cover situations from accidental damage...

After reading the original thread I've made a leap of faith and ordered the necessary part. The part was out of stock but eventually arrived a couple days ago. I was planning to do this little...

Excellent. I would also like to hear more about your experience with the filters. Kodak Wratten 2A is not common these days (although there seems to be some stock on ebay), I wonder if there are...

So, one month later, did anybody actually try to mod the 7-14/4 with filter holder from 8/3.5? If so, please share the experiences.

This way you will get some protection and an extra function.
Get a Lens Pen and always carry it with you. A few years ago I took pictures along the eastern shore of Aruba and I did not use any...

Some IS systems (Canon) can detect tripod and disable the stabilization automatically. At least, that's what the manuals claim. Given the size of the moving elements in something like 70-200 it's...

Tough. Neither 12-50 nor 40-150 will work well for indoors - both are quite slow. That said, 40-150 sometimes surprises me and with OM-D stabilization you might be able to get a few nice shots. If...

Placed 72nd in the challenge.

There were a lot of birds just sitting there on the edge of water. Then I saw a couple of people walking dogs in the distance so I decided to wait and see what happens next. It worked exactly as I...

Great shots! I went to both places two years ago but the weather in GC was not very good for pictures during my trip. Filled the entire card with Arches though.

Sigma 4.5 is probably out then. 8mm vintage Peleng fisheye may still fit the bill -- it is relatively compact.
-
I would definitely try 8mm fisheye. There is also Sigma 4.5mm circular fisheye for APS-C which would become circular for m43.
-
Sigma 8-16 is optically better than the full frame 12-24 equivalent but the latter has better AF and overall nicer build (from Canon experience). Pana 7-14 still has some edge over both of them....
-
No, I have the same feeling. Could be purely psychological. I had the same with my previous camera (Canon) but there I had some proof - two sets of aftermarket batteries died after about 1.5 years...

Not m43 although I am getting some good stuff from OM-D so something may replace this one soon. Was a completely random shot, not planned in any way - I was walking through a parking lot in...

I've got Pana 20/1.7 to do it once. It was inside a poorly lit building with bright light coming from outside. Given the situation it did not feel unusual and it stopped as soon as moved to the...

Another one to consider is Panosaurus. Shipping to the UK seems a little bit steep but the overall price is still not bad.
