At least she can get all channels. ;0)

Mastering a camera like the SX50 is much more satisfying than trying to master the most expensive camera in the world. Problem is always the subject matter, lighting and passion to enjoy the moment...

I think you want Av mode to set the aperature, which then sets the depth-of-field based on focus point. That said, most P&S cameras have a small aperature range and good wide focus, so if you have...

Blue Heron at 50x with sx50
If you look closely, you'll see a twig from left to right that was crossing over the bird, and also a smaller one from the bottom left covering part of the nest. What...

A white balance problem for sure. Also you were in shade, and outdoors, shade has more blue, so it must have tried to compensate. What was your white balance set at, and see if you can adjust for it.

I'm 68. Just started taking bird shots when I got my SX50. Before that it's been mostly flowers.
Blue Heron at 50x. Used monopod. Lots of branches in the way, but they disappeared. If you look...

That looks like a coating scratch vs. a glass scratch. Carefully run your finger nail over the scratch and see if it catches on a groove. A coating scratch isn't going to mean much, nor should a...

50x with some post processing for sharpness and contrast.
100x with some post processing
200x with some post processing
All taken with a monopod. I have taken moon pics with the Sony HX300, and...

I noticed a similar phenomenon when taking pictures of Herons through branches. The branches disappeared when the focus was dead on the Herons.

Cross eyed does not have a separation limit. L/R should not be more than 2.5 inches of viewing width or eyestrain will result. So it's not a simple issue with the variation of monitors out there....

Okay, I tried it, and the lens does NOT retract when you swing your hand down sharply. I'm thinking that it only retracts on shock impact--I did a light shock test against my other hand, but it...

should be easy to try. Just set it and with your hand holding the camera (tightly!) raised in the air, swing it down as fast as possible and see what happens. If it retracts then you'll know.

These are great, however, the separation is a bit too much for me, wish they were crosseyed instead.

Jean-Luc: I use Stereomaker too. Thanks for the reply. I will have to look deeper into how it works. Thanks! Maybe you said this already, but what camera(s) setup are you using?

Rudaki,
I am impressed with you pictures and the software used to view them. Did you use special 3D software for your blog? Is it software that I can find on the internet. I would like to create...

rudaki, Excellent. That said, how do I use this software site in English from the US. It's great!

Excellent. Try -1/3 ev and see how that perks up the contrast.

You've downsized them so much, I can't get a good perspective and they look soft when I click on them. I wish I could fill the screen and really take in the view.

I took the RX100 on a German trip and was very happy with the results. I left my Canon T3i and all that heavy stuff at home--and finally sold it. I now have a Canon SX50 just for zoom fun. But for...

Could be a juvenile female. Interesting, though.
