My ice cream picture would be more interesting but it has been already entered for.

In reply to:

thx1138: dpreview clearly sets the bar low on AF performance. Not one of those frames is acceptably sharp on the face. Sure the hat is acceptably sharp in quite a few and it's clear the AF has been caught out focusing on the front of the hat not the face.

So, can I resume?
Getting older? Sell all your DSLR stuff and buy some MILC.
MILCs are made for old people!)))

JPR.lda: Well done Sony!!!
This is the way to go: smaller lighter camera, better ISO, less Mpixs
Now I just need quiet shutter and smaller lighter pro lens.
Please make a version of this with 1" sensor and Nikon will be in serious trouble.
I am tired of waiting for this from Nikon.

And smaller sensor too to meet your needs))

On Fujifilm X-T1 Review preview (586 comments in total)
In reply to:

berbmit: An amateur's experience constrained by a price-point:

After my D5100 and all lens was stolen I had the chance for a clean start. The X-T1 became the replacement kit; body and three lens graciously payed for by insurance. It was a hard call to move away from the familiar Nikon range, but after a week I'm convinced that I have a whole lot more camera for the replacement price than I could have got with a Nikon!

In particular, I am amazed at the improved quality (subjectively speaking) compared to my old Nikon RAW (using Lightzone/DCRAW under Linux) ... the difference is immediate to my eye.

The handling is really nice; more compact without feeling too small, solid to hold, great build quality. The EVF in low light was a surprise ... as if I was using night vision goggles ... fantastic for composing a low light image.

I'm still getting used to the idea I bought non-Nikon, at this point I am having no buyer regrets and would not trade back to a Nikon price-parity equivalent.

It sounds like a very programmed speach from a pie eater)))
BTW, CIPA numbers are rather disappointing for a camera with such price tag and such high fps.
Maybe it should be positioned as a classy JPG camera?))

In reply to:

EdBov: It was 86% minus 3% because of us laughing about DPR.......:-)

A 83% score is unbelievable and they cannot mean this score to be "serious".
The more I believe that Nikon, Olympus and Fuji are paying better than Ricoh (who do not pay for getting good or just even better reviews).

Even the Canon 7D (about 4 years older) has a score of 84%.

Goodbye DPR!. There was once a time I took you serious ................

"Realistically, a few months from now nobody will care about the K3."

Tell it to all nikonians who waited D400 release in vain.

In reply to:

SkilakDeZoo: I have forgotten, the cameras have been compared as long as the competition could compete. So, how many brands have waterproof lenses? how many brands have IS? well only Pentax, sorry then it cannot be used as a criterion. I like the statement that Nikon has got so many lenses but how many of them are waterproof? To be honest a camera and say max 5 lenses is everything what is needed, why be bothered with 200?

"IBIS makes perfect sense on an A77 or other mirrorless. It makes no sense at all on a DSLR."

Did your mom tell you that?

Dpreview is very serious concerning K3 preview.
And that's revealing fact.))
Many agree that K3 brought some fresh air in the industry(amongst quite boring "novelties" from other vendors).
