Lee Jay: So, Canon removes video crop modes from the Rebel series with the T4i and fails to add it to the 7D via this firmware update. This is one of the two main reasons I never bought a 7D in the first place and the fact that they removed it from the new Rebel and not included it on the 5DIII may indicate they have dropped this highly-useful feature. Disappointing and ridiculous. I guess I'll keep my money.
yeah you keep your money
tkbslc: I feel bad that nobody seems to care about the GXR.
Ricoh is not well regarded?! wow....this kid certainly is new to photography then.
digitalDork: Wow - I want one, that D800 is just so yesterday now.Wonder if they'll provide a vertical grip that takes a car battery?
this is gorgeous!
da shi! xue xi le!
simon65: RIP Canon
If Nikon release a $1,500 FF DSLR then Canon's existing business model, product line up and pricing model is toast.
Canon have just released the 5D Mk III at $3,500 body only (!#!), and its near starter DSLR, the 650D at $950.
As someone who has always felt Canon are one of the more cynical manufacturers our there I can't but help feeling a touch of schadenfreude as I witness the increasingly tightening stranglehold Nikon and Sony have got them in. That even as I see the value of my Canon kit falling by the day on Ebay.
I'm selling and moving on, Canon have been offering too little for too much, for too long.
D600 for $1500.....bubble wrap body?
bernynhel: Before hearing about the T4i I was trying to decide between a T1i and T2i plus a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens as 1st and only DSLR. I only want to take great indoor closeups of marbles (little round glass things) and jewelry with a small desktop studio setup, camera firmly mounted on a tripod or rail system. I'm already happy enough with the vid on my SX30is and I hear no calling to run around outdoors trying to make bees around a flower nor hurdlers at a track meet appear to be frozen in flight. Did I let this T4i business mesmerize and cause me to wander into the wrong neighborhood for my needs? To try and find any direction out of all these posts just reminds me of the learning curve I'm trying to avoid so please kick me to the curb but first tell me if I should go with the T1i or T2i or tell me I'd be crazy not to get the t4i. And thank you in advance for what I am sure will be an avalanche of well-informed if diametrically opposed opinions.
get a T3i. the articulated LCD screen could help you lot...
Francis Carver: Wow, EIGHT HUNDRE FIFTY BUCKS (!!!) for something like THIS? No, Canon..... we really do not think so, Dudes.
you guys are brutal......but i love it! lol
Naveed Akhtar: I left Canon for Nikon 4 years ago,and then moved to m4/3, but this is the first time when I am finding Canon attractive.
Well done Canon!
oh this 123Mike certainly is a newb...1965, Canon launched Canon Pellix with semitransparent fixed mirror..2010, Sony launched A33/A55 with translucent mirrors..
that's all i wanna say for now...
i would love to see the new rebel series has shoulder LCD. EOS620/650 both has shoulder LCDs though.
lajka: Hej Samyang. Why not a model in Leica M-mount so we can use it with adapters on: Ricoh GRX, Fuji-Pro, Sony Nex, without need of buying a lens for each model. Or maybe that`s what you want? You can still make one for Samsung since it`s korean and it`s mount not allowing m-adopters is hopeless.
if you can afford a Leica why would you settle for a Samyang?! like...put $20,000 rims on a Hyundai Accent????????
WHOLE LOT MORE! i will be one of them...this camera is really amazing (at low ISO) LOL! but i love the details!
this is interesting! not bad....but still cramping up pixels? very immature IMHO
sir_bazz: I don't think Pentax have ever had a K-mount 50mm f1.8 so I assume it's an all new design. The rounded aperture blades are also a nice touch for a beginner prime.
As an owner of an old Pentax MZ-S, I'd like to know how this lens performs on 135 format.
"drooling"....awwww....MZ-S....don't you wish to have a full frame MZ-SD?
Ibida Bab: A few more Samsungs that will sink into oblivion real fast.
the first type of photography pops out of my mind when you see "serious players" is sport photogrpahy so i used olympics as an example. guess your definition of serious is a bit different than mine then.
i won't discuess medium format since it's at a different level of being serious. if i get the cash to burn and hot girls running around the pool....and someone pays me....sure...why not...like Suze Randall...oh wait...she doesn't use medium format either...oh well~~~
let's see how many pros take samsung to the olympics this summer....won't bother to ask further becasue there will be pro is dumb enough to bring a samsung with him/her. it would be a JOKE...a real joke..a real joke that lasts years
snegron: Ok, seriously? While I am a long-time Nikon fan, I have to admit this "Public Best Camera Award" is the most absurd thing I have heard in awhile. How can people vote on a camera they haven't even used yet?!? This is just another way to produce extra hype for a camera so that it sells better when it finally becomes available to the public.
just like how kids used to compare MIG29 and F15 which 2 never (i assumed) engaged in a real dog fight and not to mention none of us has even seen one in real life.....touch one? no way...LOL!!!
D800 is awesome no doubt about it but the argument here is WHO is the public and WHO presented the public.
audijam: voted by public? man...coming out with the winner is easier than the making of the movie of "The Dictator"
I now announce the winner is D800 and shut your mouth or you will die....LOL!!!! shut up and you all voted for D800, yes you did!....shut up! bang bang bang~
you just don't get the joke..lol. it's okay you tried.
