Bill Rees: I realize that bashing the Nikon 1 system is the thing to do but I like mine. I got the V1 on closeout last year along with the FT-1 and a few of the inexpensive lenses. The price on this lens makes no sense. I even feel the wide angle zoom is overpriced.
gems.......or........jello
finnnnnallllly.......
but i cannot afford it...LOL!
shademaster: Who would choose this over OM-D???
@abortabort
I use 5DIII+1DsII but OM-D isn't a plastic toy, again. thanks
shademaster: Who would choose this over OM-D???
OM-D is not a plastic toy. thanks
LGO: For those planning to use the Lightroom in lieu of ACR (which is only available through subscription) to process RAW files from future camera models then port the file to Photoshop, be advised that Adobe can "upgrade" the future versions of the Lightroom output so that it will be incompatible with CS6 to pressure the user to subscribe.
The user does have an option to output a DNG or TIF from Lightroom as an intermediate file and use this in Photoshop but this will slow the workflow and take up storage space.
At best, the LR + Photoshop (CS6) should be seen as a temporary solution that will work until such time that Adobe makes the underlying ACR engine in LR incompatible for use with Photoshop. Because of this, I am now on the lookout for another software that will replace LR and Photoshop.
I am also LR4+CS6 and it would be very difficult for me because i am so used to the flow. I dont' mind to learn new tools/hot keys/whatever but....man...time is money!
jerrith: How about Sony lenses? Since us Sony shooters are not using Canikon hardware this is of no use to us.
It seems to me that Sony is still getting ignored, while Canikon get tons of attention :-(
whoever pays more wins...
If it is Nikon makes the 18-35 f1.8 today Nikon fans will be like "omg this is amazing! Nikon rules the world again!"
unfortunately it is Sigma makes the brilliance and some people just cannot take it..
18-35 range you need stablization? oh please~~~
this is a backup camera segement game changer for wedding photographers....f1.8~~~ i would rather use ISO3200 than ISO12800+
go sigma!
holy cow....this is perfect for wedding photographers!
Lajos Hajdu: Small point: the title is wrong.
"Sigma to start shipping USB dock IN May"
or
"Sigma to ship USB dock FROM May"
that's how we say it in Canada too...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA....omg! Samsung thinks they own the market and can stipulate the price as they like. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.....soooooo jokes!
jm67: DXO never fails to incite heated retorts. It's so funny when they give a Canon product poor scores and the Canon users call the methodology flawed. Now it's time for the combo of a Canon camera/lens system to get good scores (something those of us using the 5D3 and certain lenses have known from actual usage) and it's time for the Nikon fans to yell foul. Oy vey.
Nikon forgot to pay their monthly fees to DXO....so yeah....
so what?! it's not the scope killing the animals...it's the people! duh!
dpLarry: In USA years ago you used to lose a wallet and somebody will return it with the cash intact. I think those days are gone unless the people who picked up the wallet are senior citizens.
Canadians!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Henry M. Hertz: nikon should have gone the canon way.
first the lenses, then the sensor.
that's what nikon is doing already. they have no control over its sensors which are produced by sony.
touch screen for newbs; buttons for pros....period
ISO performance is my only concern...but everything else looks fantastic
WOW
looking forward to next generation
Matthew Miller: "Caution: Only K-5II/K-5IIs users are permitted to download the firmware update."
So, watch out, all you Nikon and Canon users. The download police will come after you.
thanks for the reminder i shall not download the firmware update....don't wanna get fined or go to jail man..
