On CP+ 2014: Hands-on with Sony a6000 article (99 comments in total)

I kinda feel bad; Why did I buy E-PM1 + Sigma 30mm+ 40-150mm for 400€, just autmn.

This gray version looks very cool. Better specs than Micro43... etc etc. Wondering about its video, would be getting warm as previous NEX cams ?

G 1 x II would be a great underwater cam. You got all you need lenses on your APS-C camera.

But, would it work that good ? Personally, my 1/2.3 sensored recyled window glass lensed sony cam takes underwater videos far better than my 1/1.7 sensored Razor sharp M.Zuiko lensed XZ-1 olympus.

Well image quality is better than Sony. But thast small sony was relatively easier to use. Wondering this guy.

Marty4650: People buy fixed focal length fixed lens compacts for simplicity and convenience. There is nothing simple or convenient about hauling around tele-converters because you really wanted an ILC or a zoom lens.

An X100s variant with a zoom lens would have made much more sense. And if it had a modest zoom range.... like 1.5X or 2.0X, then it could still be pretty small.

If canon would achieve fast focusing (As fast as Micro43 let´s say) clear shots at hand held 1/4 seconds or even slower...

That would be a very big and strong nail to fuji, leica, nikon, ricoh songle lens/aps-c sensor cam.s coffin.

Ben O Connor: In my opinion;

- If you pay for a 1" sensor P&S, thanks to its optics. it is WASTE OF MONEY (excluding Sony Superzoom)
- If you pay for a 1" sensor ILC cam, it is WASTE OF MORE MONEY.
- If you pay for a APS-C sensor with stabile optics it is WASTE OF RESOURCES (that might exclude new canon G 1 X II, I don´t know yet!)
- If you pay for a full frame sensor camera, and your model is a mirrorless one, with stabile optics or inter-changable lens you* are A FILTY RICH DUDE !

And damn !! It would be good to have smilar money and taste as you have.

As you see, a WASTE OF RESOURCES camera , is trying to excuse from its buyes by releasing converters.

Dude, why did not you buy its better version even more affordable ? (The fuji´s interchagable lens family) Don´t try to give me a speach of "But its pocketable and .... come on dude ;) someone put this beautifull lens in to a single lens jail, and you paid for it!!

Its too sophisticated "video shooting digital camera" for average consumer.

I wonder does Panasonic or Blackmagic or Sigma or Olympus.... Or some other brand considering producing something like Sony vg-10... But its micro43 version.

John Miles: What a breath of fresh air. I was being retroed to death.

Indeed! However there are good members of retro (pen e-p5 or OMD E-M10)... many of them boringly copy of retro...even worse, copying leica outlooks.

Enough of grandpa's cam ! I want new design !!!!

SENSATIONAL AMAZING DESIGN. If there would be additional tri-pod mounted phone/smart device would fit back of the cam as screen/controls... THAT CAM BECOMES A SELLING HERO.

I don't know you, I would buy one if my Lumia 1520 would fit.

Alphoid: I wish the Nokia phones would dual-boot Android and Windows Phone. I'd totally buy one of these models if I wasn't taking a risk on Windows but had a choice.

Alternatively, I wish some Android manufacturer would release a reasonable competitor.

It's funny. It seems like Nokia is hampered by Windows (since otherwise, almost all photographers would buy Nokia), and Windows is hampered by Nokia (who doesn't make the best hardware otherwise). If Microsoft had a strategy of choice on all handsets, it would work better for all involved.

Heck, if I got an Android+Windows phone, I'd at least try Windows. If Windows was better (and I've never used it, so aside from knowing how badly Windows sucks elsewhere, I have no idea), I'd switch to Windows.

Fotor is a great and free app. Not a LR alternative maybe, but does many shinny/baby stuff as instagram does.

SergioMO: Note 3 with 4k video and Spen is a monster ! No WP

So you got a 4k tv/screen to enjoy that footage to enjoy (else than your phone) otherwise Full HD is way enough above 400Hz for my taste on my 40" tv.

For over 3years I used an android 2.3 media device ( Sony Walkman Z.) and a year ago, upgraded it to android 4... It was alright thing for music media games etc. And internet where WiFi available.

January 2 I got my first smartphone and its a black Lumia 1520. It is freaking fast, while my one cored android Walkman just loading things 1520 has already open them. Camera is enough to defeat my Sony cyber shot W150 (from 2008) and Olympus Xz-1 in daylight. It get very close to my e-pm1 (for landscapes and portraits). Camera interface is very well specified. Its physical shutter button can take two shots sometime, but its only adjusting issue I believe.

after all, since 2014 there is a category called phablet and it is REAL. You don't carry your tablet everytime, and your phone is not read friendly if its screen smaller than 5". Nokia has made a great device I can recommend it to all, who can afford.

last word; dear Nokia, check optional accessories what Sony and Samsung offers for their phablets, and produce similar/better stuff. I'll buy them.

HuwW: Most of these comments are taking a far too Western perspective.

The Russian and Chinese markets are huge opportunities for luxury brands. I'd guess that a very high proportion of these cameras will end up in those geographies.

Indeed, eastern markets also search for luxury. But trust me, even they would not go for it.

MAN, ITS ALL THE SAME DUDE IN ANOTHER JACKET !!! ( sorry its wirrten hazelnut on it !)
