Interesting upgrade...

Its so "last season" compare to D750, more expensive than D7000/71000, and still has something inside of it called "mirror" !!! If its OVF sake, well Pentax has the best of all at that crop. Don't tell me its "burst rate sake", coz better burst at smilar sensor sized NEX cameras of Sony.

Hopefully final image from this camera is good, other than that, who would bother buying one!

Ben O Connor: First releasing the "High Quality Expensive optics" (35mm F 1.4) then releasing mediocre optics but "faster autofocusing" one! (35mm F 2.0)

Interesting order. Seems like all camera company has its own tactics to juice off their customers!

Well, in MFT world; they fist release the crappy one... Then they releases better versions
- Olmypus 17mm F2.8 pancake,Olympus 17mm F 1.8, Leica 15mm F 1,7
- Olympus 45mm F1,8, leica 42,5 mm F 1,4 and soon cheaper but built in IS 42,5mm F 1,7

I find it rather more logical. They markets like "Look bro, we are improving your final image!" And it makes it sell.. But Fuji... Its not even film anymore... Its Fuji ;)

The biggest light saber ever made! very cool, I bet you have put a welding class front of it! I would not believe any ND filter would cope with direct sunlight even at sun set!

Great idea & image

It is a "start up project"... why do you guys limit yourselves by full frame.. go for medium format!

I got a feeling like; this 30mm is a built-in extension tube + sigma 30mm ! I used to have 30mm 2.8, worked very well. Smilar performance, even more macro... Why not!

But this 42,5mm is a little late... Many folks out there has Olympus 45mm already! And this dies not offer the better price... Or illumination... Wondering if Built in IS is enough feature for masses to buy this one. Not for me, at this price point.

I must admit; I did not liked the idea of Mark II. Especially after E-PL3-5-6-7!!! All smilar IQ, does not have built in flash... repeating products to be somehow to known "fresh" ones.

But this has genuine upgrades.

Congratulations! Olympus has very good strategies to keep. It sounds so true to hear "Its not the MPX only, also IS!" exactly. A little shake can effect the whole image, when lacking of light. Even at high ISO.

All my complain is, why the PEN Air has so deep body profile. It could be a bit wider but slimmer (like a credit card!) and we could attach it to our cell phones physically. Sure it would fit less for the adrenalin junkies, but for normal folks that would be easier to carry.

Great to see this lens at CP+ ! The mock up seems like "sigmaa 30mm dn art + macro extension tube" and now it also announced has an "in-lens IS" means it will aiming GM line. Like compact zoom lens. (35-100mm) it has sleek, minimalistic out looks.

Can't wait to add it my gm1+15mm Leica collection !

Right Ricoh ?

After TLR cameras people ended up smaller OVF, then mirrorless came and ovf totally gone. I am a lover of pentax %100 covering evf, but seems like after digital revolution over film, it gonna be mirrorless evolution on photography.

For the OVF HAS TO thinking folks; there it is! Pentax 645 series.

Not ergonomic as SX powershot series... And not quite stylish as EOS M (the first ones)...

Hopefully it will perform well. I am not a canonist or anti-canonist. So don't bite me immediately!

Baba Ganoush: This camera, we're told, is highly specialized and designed especially for astrophotography, so why does Nikon display it with a 24mm wide angle lens instead of a long telephoto (or even a telescope)? Does Nikon think this lens is appropriate for astrophotography or are they trying to suggest the D810A has other, more general uses? Seems to me like another case of a disconnect between Nikon and actual Nikon users.

So you can take photos of closer stars, such as:

K.Kardashian, P.Hilton, L.Lohan, M.Cyrus.... You name it ;)

On CP+ 2015: Hands-on with new Pentax K-S2 article (194 comments in total)

Cool! I loved K-30 back then, and this one not as good looking as that but has an articulated screen and keeping ruggedness as well.

Why I always fall in love with Pentax bodies! I even feel like; " I can pull the trigger on a Pentax q-s1 body to just buy and have fun with C-mouth lenses!" even I don't like the whirling bookeh... Even I find sensor very small for creating a nice DoF ... Even then I wish to own a Pentax camera.

I suck, that I let my budget to decide on my camera purchase. If I would not suck as big as now, I definitely would own a Pentax 645 digital cam and extensive range of medium format lenses....

All kit zoom lenses from any brands suck! But this one suck less, thanks to its collapsible design.

(PS. Maybe the only un-sucking kit zoom lens is belong to Olympus e-m1... But then it sucks on size category! Nothing is flawless in the world of optics!)

Mark Chan: Use cases:

Aerial photography on drones; much better Q than gopros and lighter than the SONY equivalent (with the lens). I can imagine using this with the lens cap lens and doing video shots!

extreme angle photography

selfies! (duh)

Time lapses with a water proof casing / weather proof casing

astrophotography!!

Microscope photography?

IF the sensor package is that from the EMII - and the 1/16000 seems to hint somewhat to that, then wireless tethering for product shots??

Just give me access to the device to play!

Like this guy did by his GM1... even some lighter "purpose build" systems as this would be more usefull

http://www.43rumors.com/amos-chapple-proves-you-can-become-famous-with-the-panasonic-gm1/#disqus_thread

GM1 packs great videography and full camera functionality. I doubt about Olympus video quality and wondering does it enables all the juice you can get from a PEN camera ?

Direct link | Posted on Feb 7, 2015 at 12:51 UTC

I would love to buy one, and placed in to a old (60´s, 70´s) 80€-150€ range quality medium format film camera (like old voighlanters or zeiss or even kodaks or agfa´s!) and get the juice of this bellows hood attached camera...

But these moduls are so thick ! They should consider making it a bit thinny. And for mirrorless sake, why it is even thicker than an pen camera ?

smaller sensor than aps-c & fourthirds, bigger sensor than most of the compacts, extensive physical control buttons, Single "all singing-all dancing!" lens...

Seems like word "bridge camera" finally makes sense.
