Ben O Connor: I would understand all the comprimises, if it woupd be an M mouth camera. No need to be full rame, but the pyscal size of the lens should be M size! It feels so fake to me (even the design looks better than ordinary)

That is also true :) as long as M has no autofocus mechanism, what is the difference between using it with/without adapter!

My free decision is; Leica 15mm F 1.7

Its also belong to this year. Lightning fast focusing, closest focus range is almost "macro" feeling. Very usefull angle (wide for landscape, sharp for portrait). Just "The Real Best" to me.

papa natas: You mean to tell me that you took this BEAUTIFUL image with a 250$-puny 1/1.7" sensor-amateur-dedicated-3 years old-camera?
Why, didn't you use the Olympus-OM-DE-M5?
Nor the Sony a7 II, nor any of its price winner sisters?
What about the Canon-EOS-7D-Mark II?
Aren't you aware that it takes at least a 5000$ photo gear in your bag to be creative?
What a sacrilege!!
Are you a Communist?
Don't you hold any respect for consumerism?
People like you ruins the economy, not to mention the normal flow and glow of our bonfire of vanities.
You, and your little camera should be banned for life from this prestigious temple of consumerism.

That is a compliment, I wished to heared of :)

Ben O Connor: I HATE ADD ON FLASHES !

So hard to make it built in ? At least you can make it wireless capable, That It would deserves t carry with it !

Both solutions occupy the hot-shue ! So where can EVF attached ? The IQ or Buck/bang ratio decreasing.

Anyway, I have a GM1 now and stres of "carry a flash in anywhere of me" (pocket etc.) has gone! And no evf but built in wifi keeps these two cameras eaqual in my evaluation.

After all , Its just my personal opinions.

Ben O Connor: It would be better idea to put articulating screen and keeping built-in flash. Possible owners of this camera (likes control, yet pocketable) would not mind to be without evf.

Hopefully Panasonic's decision will be correct one.

Well... Numbers says that, lots of people has GM1, as much wants to own (mine is on the way, together with a 15mm F 1.7).

GM5 does not have these figured yet... Well GM1 is 1 years old soon... Lets wait & see...

(PS. I'd love to own A Pentax or Fullframe Nikon OVF, but evf... Even I have one! That I hardly using.... Just not me. If it would be there after all such as GX7...)

Or there are thousand other car brands. No need the drive Rolls-Royce ...

IT - IS - A -UNIQUE - LUXURY- ITEM !!!

I also don't see ANY logic to buy something exact same than Panasonic models. But this one is UNIQUE !

Hmmm so you are one of the few who buys Hasselblad stellar. Sure I have no idea what I'm talking about ;)

I am not rich. And as long as "exact same!" Why should I pay more ? LX100's leica sister is a bit better in this way. At least has different outlook and optional metal grip. Other than that....

Ben O Connor: EISA just annoucned, They have given the "Ugliest Add on Flash" award to Panasonic.

One good thing about LX100; its leica sister is just 50€ more expensive. Offers same specs and optional grip is more beautiful than one on Panasonic.

But still that dum-bass add on flash! I wish leica would give their own old brick looking flash with it.

Not my choice anyway. I wish the best to its owners.

Dear DPR,

I know technology is improving and those small sensors (with smaller than 1") p&s are history now. But it still bugle my mind "aren't those cameras in the same segment are point and shoot cameras?"

In the other hand; I love to compare their skills with other Interchangeable lens cameras... But then it keeps to be confusing. For example; how come its built quality outperformed weather sealed bodies of other candidates (such as E-M1) or does it really focusing higher than GH4 ? Really?

Thanks for your effort testing all those technology. I made my decision to buy XZ-1 back in 2011 thanks to your review. And I always use your studio samples even now. Many new buyers around the world does take your opinions very seriously. We like you.

Seems like, quite a camera here! Back then Olympus XZ -1 was able to reach gold medal by 74 points abs and now it 85!!!! Its impressive.

However, as an owner of couple lenses, I want to stay on PEN bodies and I can use my glass on Lumix bodies in future. I prefer flexibility over "all singing all dancing" camera.

Forgot to mention; add on flash is ridiculous! Paying 1.000€ and still possibility to forget the thing? Which also disturbingly ugly looking one!

Imagine; 35mm is actually equivalent of 24mm !!! Brother of a friend of mine is a photographic with many weird stuff and he says

"90mm is a super wide in my cameras!" And when he says "its compact", he means "camera can fold form front to back and fit to a backpack! While tripod is attached to side of the same backpack..."

Dear God, you know how much want this model of Pentax... Please allow me to win coming weekend lottery...

Amen...
