I had to change the exposure with the ISO increase, otherwise it would have clipped more on the ISO 400 after the push. I wanted to compare equivalent post-ADC ADUs.

You might be right, although it's curious that the D7100 exhibits it so much more than the D5100 with the same lens. Maybe there's flare/reflection inside the D7100's chamber. Here's an angle shot...
