I was waiting for an OIS in the new itetation, i hope they will consider it with full readout sensor for better video ad well.
Now we need the Global shutter into next a7iii :)
So what actually needed now is to make 1080p@240f as standard to get stabilized one @ 24 frame.!
sean lee: wow…RX100 ii was also good and popular and it is getting better. But I find it's body design is little boring for my taste. Why sony keep same body design?I think only competitor is Lumix GM1. Next GM1 should introduce with hot shoe for EVF.
I was about saying the LX7 predecessor can compete with and might be better choice if panasonic could manage m43 sensor in it, and the gm1 is proof that they can, so lets see wether they will keep or just get it out of game!
JeffreyJC: $800.00 is almost twice as much as this camera should be. You can buy for example a Oly PM2 with 2 lens kit for $370. Sure this is a great camera but a $800 dollar great camera ? NOT EVEN CLOSE!
You cannot even find its fast quality lense alone on m43rd with that price! You just talk
What else might be defected, it cost a premium while its quality far from that !
24-85mm @ 1.8-2.4f would be great!
Siff: Question: Is it possible that Sony may add the Image Stabilization feature with a firmware update?
I hope they would consider OIS in next version.
Cake without creame ! Extreme low-light without global shutter. But it's awesome to get this capability it well courage other manifactures to return to right sensor resolustions for hyprid cameras. Not everyone need 36 mp neither want extrem low light, thats why M43rd sensors cant win as one htprid solution. Some might prefer 4 mp native for better lowlight, other might need 20 mp for landscape and studio, we need others to follow this step like sony but with even more, like gh4 what if if had 9 mp and global shutter.
What if it has,5-axis OISGlobal shutterFully articulated screenin camera 4KHybrid AFsame size and around $2000
peevee1: Pay attention to footnotes, especially footnote 3.
"World's First Full-Frame Camera with Full Pixel Read-out3 (without pixel binning) during Movie Shooting3 When used in 4K (24p/30p), HD(24p/30p) movie setting"
Note that HD 60p is not mentioned. That means:1) full sensor readout is at about 30 fps - expect huge rolling shutter artifacts at 24p and 30p2) 1080p60 is made with line-skipping
To get the best of it use 4K then resample it to 1080p or 720p, but unfortunatly it cannot record in camera 4K, so the downsampled Gh4 might look shaper than the out of the box of this, second lowlight is one aspect of many other aspects that help each one to find the suitable tool for his needs, however, i'm very excited to see how it performs in lowlight dark nights 😉
Ednaz: No OIS? Bummer.
I wish it had OIS it might would be indeed perfect!
what to consider in v4 :)1. global shutter.2. 4K video at 60fps, 1080p@ 120fps, 720p@240, 3. weather sealing.4. a bundled lense around (24-85mm equ.) with constant 2.8f.5. fully articlated screen.
and take my money :)
A 24-85mm equ. lense with constant 2.8f can be very attractive as a bundle for this system! good capable video require good capable lense bundled too.
for me I expected fast lenses zoom and primes.
How you used the 'Sigma 30mm F2.8 EX DN' and image Focal length is 21mm ?
