The future is bleak.
what is your problem, it shows that this young people have not even money to pay for the essential things of life in a modern society. We can judge only when we know why this young people live such miserable live. Excellent series well captured and I'm sure its just a fraction what you get to see on missery of the young people.

garyinhere: Why is my Rodeo picture DQ'd? NO animals where hurt at all? It was bull riding, they reuse those animals for life and they are too expensive to hurt... if I posted someone riding a horse would that get kicked too?
Are you illusional or just ignorant to not understand that this is not a natural way for the animal. If anger and fear brought to an animal is not cruelty and don't know what. This includes 99% of all sports involving animals, especially where bets are made. Its not about the animal fun its about fun for humans which don't want to see the truth behind it.

The snow shot does it for me, close up was never the big deal with the X100 ether. Would I sell my X100 to get the X100s nope but for sure better in operational sense, Image a tiny bit but not considerable better. Still the best compact camera with the best OOC JEPG "no fuzz PP" I still look for this all rounder compact with zoom lens 500mm and delivers IQ of a DSLR with 500mm lens :-) one can dream

what a blessed life he has and what a inspiring person to go out and get shooting. Good on him, he managed to make that saying become reality a picture can say more than 1000 words.

whatever the youth culture Romania meant to be it is an outrage displaying such culture and promoting it in any way. Cultures are their to be changed and I hope this is one of them. I would not think anyone thinks its nice to see shrink heads of children just because it was culture in some south american tribes.

as long as their is someone who appreciate this kind of art we can be assured next exhibition is about shoes. We have to let them have the freedom of creativity. It is up to the individual to like it or not. Its called consumer world, remember Henry Ford :-)

one could be converted to this camera if they managed to cramp in an EFV like on the NEX7 or XE1 for under $1000 bucks it would cut of a big slice of this competitors

Happy New Year to all and don't worry to much about the results. I voted for the D800 and the OMD was right next to it but would I buy the OM-D no I rather go for the next generation Fuji X cameras. The D800 yes but I'm to lazy to carry around the bulk and weight. To many really good cameras out there and it is what suits the individual which makes them buy one or the other camera. Only when you feel comfortable with your choice of camera you will go out and take the shots you be happy with.

even so I say D800 on the whole, I think it needs to be separated into mirrorless, DSLR, fixed lens P/S & superzoom, mobile phone (possibly). The X E1 is missing as well in the list in this term D800, XE1, RX100, FZ200, Nokia 808

A few years ago, one of my images was on display, having garnered high honors in our local camera club competition. I got a call from some woman who loved it and wondered if it was for sale. I quoted an insane price of $250 because I didn't want to be bothered. She said it was a deal. I was so surprised, I told her that rather than give her that print, I would custom print one for her on exhibition paper. It is the only print I ever sold since most of my work I do for myself and my own satisfaction and/or club(s) competition. I don't recall if I took it with my Leica or Nikon.
A professional is anybody who's work product is for sale. So, I guess I qualify...sort of. Chuckle.
I qualify as well lol I sold once a print for 250.- bucks and that was shot with a Oly Muj 300 hehe now I'm a professional :-) If they want to get professionals to buy their products they better try to lower their price, right now the market is full with damn good compact cameras and for a 3000 bucks you in with a D800

impressive peace of engineering and for sure it is meant to target the professional or wealthy photographer enthusiast but question is do they need such a high IQ in the backup camera or would be a X100 enough and have this wonderful OVF+EFV I would prefer the X100 because I don't need to cary around additional stuff. Never less very tempting photo apparatus :-) congrats to sony

I actually thought this photo will win, loved it very much because of the dramatic it communicates.
Thank you to all who voted for this capture of mine, very much appreciated.
Cheers,

while I like the winner I still think they look staged which was not the intent of this challenge.
