Michael Gomez

Michael was born a native of England, second of five, mother from Ireland, father from Gibraltar. He moved to the US in 1971 after a quick exit from his home in Uganda, fleeing the brutal regime of Idi Amin Dada. Michael has lived in Nashville, TN since 1971.

In 1990, Michael took a suggestion from a friend and thought it would be fun to try acting as a career. After a visit to a photo studio for some commercial headshots, he walked out fixed on a photography career, and has not looked back since.

Michael took some photography classes, worked in a local photography store, and soon began working as an assistant to some of Nashville’s photography legends. As time went on, Michael began to develop his own client list, and has since become one of Nashville’s contemporary photography legends.

Michael shoots out of Studio Westlight, located in the heart of downtown Nashville. Studio Westlight is a 5,600 square foot studio on the ground level with 16 ft ceilings and large windows facing west.
Michael’s 20 years of photography experience includes traditional film, digital media, video, and digital retouch.
