So you use the grip... That is probably the reason you never noticed the problem.
Placebo effect? Haha, you'll see in a couple of minutes, I'm onto something. But as usual, you'll deny the obvious....
-
I am steady as a rock, I can handhold very slow shutter speeds, even without IS. That's not the problem.
Unfortunately, I don't have the grip at the moment (I wrote it before, you probably did not...

Mmhhh, maybe we're on something! I added a flash plate (old, quite heavy) to the bottom of the camera, and I see a notable difference with my 45 1.8. Will do some more test before drawing conclusions.
-
I like your pictures. But is there any reason you're shooting at f/10?
On the OMD, optimal sharpness is obtained around f/4.0~5.6, slowly decreasing from then on because of diffraction. I can see...

Interesting observations, thanks! I will give the IS 3 a go.
Also, I was wondering the same thing about the grip! I was not very keen on buying it at full price, but if it it makes a difference, I...

Indeed! Yesterday, I went for a walk with only my OMD and the 45 1.8 (good copy this time, apart from the shutter shock at 1/100...) and I have to say I did not really miss anything. As others have...

I had a look at your gallery and really like your portraits!
Keep us informed about your new copy, hope for you it turns out well, it's a really nice lens...if you get a good copy.

Good for you.
Cannot add anything to the debate, I haven't used the lens. Have you?
Indeed. In some ways. Like myself and others have shown many times with concrete examples. But of course, you...

http://www.43rumors.com/panasonic-gh3-test-at-eoshd-global-shutter-ghx-in-two-years/
It seems like Panasonic is planning to introduce a global shutter on their GH series in about 1 1/2 year (GH5?)....

No, not married yet :D
edit: Oh man, I do not remember writing that :D :D :D
LOL^^

It drives me crazy. Always have to think about it, OR shoot with a constant 1/8 sex delay. But then again, I think I AM crazy :D
I love my OMD by the way, just hate shutter shock.
Well, I think I...

Hi!
"Bad sample" is a long time discussed issue, particularly with this lens here.I was exactly on the same boat as you a couple of weeks ago, as I bought this lens to be able to shoot in low light...

I agree. I don't think it has anything to do with the floating sensor in olympus cameras. One of the most severely affected cameras is the Panasonic Gx1, for example, and it has a well fixed sensor.
-
I agree for low light pictures. The 12-35 offers a great benefit. However, for shallow DOF, in my opinion, the f/2.8 aperture on the small ยต4/3 sensor does not offer much control, at least compared...

The 14-45 is much better than the 12-35 @ 45 mm! :D
-
So the Nex-6 has far superior ergonomic than the OMD but it has very little customization options...puzzling!

You might try to rub the contacts on the hot shoe of the camera. I heard that sometimes they can get oxidized.
