Nikon 200-400 not just a half price but all body that match a 200-400 have and built-in tele-converter that call 'high-speed crop'.

chlamchowder: The Nikon AF-S 200-400/4 VR II is $6750, and the TC-14E is $500. Together, they would cost $7520.
So, the question is, is the convenience of having the teleconverter built in worth $4480?

With crop body Nikon do it better convenience.

jnk: coming from this sensor - this is not bad at all - it actually look decent and I'm surprised @ ISO 800 - the noise level is very acceptable.

Hi, photofan1986 can you show me a picture?

worldcup1982: Here comes the V2...with minor improvements, too bad...im into photos, not video....nikon, you will stay behind competition....mirrorless all over the place, and nikon worried about not hurting their APS-C sales....

Behind? You are so funny. I'm using Nikon 1, the quality is ok for most people and it can do a professional work. The Nikon 1 lens are so small. (except the 10-100VR) And when you use 70-200 2.8 it's turn that lens to 189-540 2.8, no one like this.

Francis Carver: Make the price $149.95, and we'll seriously consider it.

Compact or Camcorder is smaller because it's have a smaller sensor and it's design not need to care about how to change a lens. ^^

Justin Francis: The small sensor really kills it. No doubt the image quality is good but then almost all cameras nowadays (including some smartphones) produce very good IQ. The key is DOF control. Even with fast primes, it would be a struggle. MFT just walks all over this system.

That camera cannot change the lens and I think color is not good as Nikon 1 too. However if you need sample of small lens please compare it to another mirrorless, Nikon 30-110VR is very small if you compare it with 55-200 or 70-300 lens.

J1 and V1 make a money for me and I don't need to buy expensive supertele lens, with 2.7x my 70-200 is turn to 189-540mm.

Nikon 10-100 is 10X with electronic zoom. It's stand out. :)

Large sensor cost you a huge lens. However The Nikon 1 have a good DOF it a lot of better than compact or phone camera.
