On article Opinion: Why the Canon XC10 is a big deal (814 comments in total)

I want Nikon 1 C1, I do not want professional feature. Just 4k 30p at 12 mp with EN-EL15 that will make me happy, because 1 NIKKOR so variety. However please Nikon don't forget mic and headphone jack.

PS. RAW video is nice.

Johannes Zander: As a V1 user I say: NO THANKS!
If Nikon can't produce a 1 with EVF in the body (not as addon) Nikon 1 is dad for me!

I plan to try Zacuto finder, I think it may better than V3 EVF.

Just a Photographer: OMG - Timelapse mode for 300 images in their press release while the battery only lasts for 250 images according to the specifications... or what about the 4K 15fps video.

Its a sad day for Nikon.
Good they didn't put out this press release yesterday as I would have thought it would have been an Aprils fools joke.

I using EH-5 for time-lapse.

At 4k resolution it look like you take a JPEG from D300 in 15 fps as long as you captured video, that good. However I want 4k 60p!!

That's a great camera bag but I like Think Tank Retrospective.

peevee1: Huh. 2014 and no built-in WiFi, when every point and shoot has it already?!

And they still continue to play games. 5 fps at 36 mpix means that sensor and processor are able to produce 7.2 (not 6) fps at 1.2x and 11.2 fps (not 7) at DX crop. Artificial limits on a $3200 camera. Huh.

Skip this tool and get real toys.

Filter isn't simple to use, it's very complicated!!

viking79: Go price how much OLPF glass costs, and quickly see Nikon is saving tons of money not including any AA filter at all. Rough guess is a full frame filter is going to cost $100 US +/-.

Seems like a small upgrade, Nikon must be feeling a lot of pressure from the competition to push it out so soon.

Only crazy mind can detect the pressure from northing...

Price is equal to Canon 400 f/2.8 and very cheap if compare to Leica, you just too poor to know this lens.

In reply to:

bawbaw: At least Leica have been in the business long enough to know thankfully that you need good lenses to launch a system.

Sony take note A7/r needed this and still has not been delivered. Even before it's out Leica have 2 lenses ready and have 2 away to move into production at no compromise optical designs. Zeiss doesn't use IS.. that's for the same reasons. Quality of image over all else!

Price wise, yes it's high, but people who have experienced true leica products, not re-badged panasonic ones, can vouch for why that build matters. My M9 feels like it has been carved out out stone, not polycarb build that feels like the slightest drop will render it dead. My film leica's from back in the day and my R8 slr were the same. Solid, dependable and more enough to take a picture.

I'll hold out for all the tests for people using M glass before I consider anything, but if it supports the legacy stuff well. Every digital M owner will jump on this as a realistically priced option as a backup.

I prefer plastic if drop test.
