In reply to:

SeeRoy: Of course DSLRs focus better and are therefore better for wildlife photography...
Unfortunately only for those wildlife photographers who don't walk far from the car.
For those of us for whom all kinds of photography involve walking long distances in the countryside, lugging along a backpack plus extra clothing, plus food, plus drink, adding 20 lb+ of DSLR and lenses (600 F4 anybody?) is a PIA.
Trading the DSLR benefits for increased range and mobility will often produce better photographic opportunities.
But of course by now the pix are usually secondary to the gear and notional "IQ" - in most senses of the acronym.

Nikon 1 with 300mm x 2.7 = 810 and it's weight + price with FT-1 fair enough when compare with TC 2X.

AlexCHStudio: Oh, thank you, Nikon! I knew I need a better camera than my D810! Finally for mere 6.5K (+few more K-s on lens and flashes) I would be able to beat my neighbor who puts me always into shame with his excellent pictures, taken with his 15-years old Canon G2. I am reaching for my wallet already :-)

Alex you are The King of Photography!! You don't need a tool, everything you need just keyboard!! ;-)

justmeMN: So, this is Nikon's equivalent of Canon's STM line of lenses?

That STM make you a money right?

noflashplease: By all accounts, Nikon's 20mm F/1.8 is sharp wide open, takes standard 77mm filters and lens caps. Canon doesn't have anything comparable, of course.

@Mike99999 Nikon soft or your mind soft?

sirkhann: Most Nikonians probably think there is no logical reason to choose the Sigma versus 20/1.8G.

And then I promise you - just wait to see the samples from this lens. You can cut your finger o this baby's corners, so sharp!

Silly will only use CPL with the sky.

Today technology not match any serious mirrorless.

Most lens is too huge that why Sony, Leica not make 2.8 zoom. EVF not great if you good enough tell what different from Optical VF. And there is many reason.

I didn't mean a value but smart people like CaNikon (and me :) will not waste a time. Making a camera is huge investment not dreaming. Look at a history Konica was a leader in camera technology and look today where is Konica?

rrccad: "Now, at the price point of the 85mm F1.8s, it's unlikely that either Canon or Nikon is spending a lot of time tuning each copy, so the better results of even the F1.8 Nikkor suggests that the Nikon design is very well matched to its production methods. "

Gee I dont know .. maybe it's something to do with the fact that the canon 85mm 1.8 EF was designed in the early 1990's for film?

comeon dpreview you can do better than this.

20 years of northing and very annoying fanboy, that Canon.
