Neither are Nikons, limitation is in amount of RAM memory avaliable in cheaper vs amount of RAM in expensive cameras. Firmware has nothing to do with it in Nikons case.

RX1 is way too expensive for me right now but for what it is, there is nothing out there that can compete. Damn pity about that shutter speed though.

Get a decent computer, and NO laptops are not considered decent in photoediting world. Get a fast GPU, and get 16GB Ram with and SSD. DXO is by far fastest out there when using GPU acceleration.

RedFox: 1/8000 is a necessity when you are using anything under f/4 on a sunny day. Go out when bright and sunny set ISO at 100 and f/2.8 and see yourself before coming out so sure on forums.
