Such a thing already exists. My Sony NEX has it. Work pretty much the same.

Here's what I have thus far:
32mm Touit - outstanding lens, easily comparable to the best I've used on any system, including Leica M, disadvantage - relatively slow focus
24mm Sony/Zeiss -...

I would think this should make manufacturers happy. They get to sell stuff to you over, and over, and over again, extracting tens of thousands of dollars in revenue. :-)

Judging by the number of posts, disparaging Apple is Menneisyys's day job. :-)

It's not the first on a smartphone, klopus. There was a phone with a fingerprint scanner already: Motorola Atrix. It's the first one that works, in a phone that doesn't suck, though. That I'd...

Watch the presentation, dude. The camera is pretty badass. It's about 50 minutes in. Bible, schmible. It's not what it's for.

There are DOZENS of people wanting manual exposure compensation, DOZENS!

Yeah, larger sensor, better lens and color temperature aware flash (that no one else, including "camera" companies has), are "minimal" updates these days, right.
-
That's basically the idea. Most people are on contract, so they make it worth your "upgrade" dollars every 2 years, when contract expires. I have a 4s, and for me it definitely is worth the price.

How superhumanly fast can you press a button on the camera? WIFI reacts within milliseconds.

I bought mine for a little over $700 in Tokyo.

The lens weighs 1.8 pounds, and it is quite gigantic. With such size and weight the range does seem quite limited, I agree with the reviewer.

@imsabel: indoors I don't need a fast lens at all. I just bounce flash off the ceiling, and set my lens to whatever aperture it performs well at (about f4 for primes, f/2.8 if I have a longer lens...

@Suntan: yes it is, but if I need wider perspective, I'll just put on a 24mm prime. Still lighter than hauling a monster zoom around, better image quality, cheaper, smaller. What's not to like? Or...
-
@Comitant: that's the thing. I don't take a lot of photos, and I delete about 80% of the few photos I take. I'm not interested in creating mountains of garbage that I will never have the time to...

I don't get why people use "normal" zooms — this is the range where it's incredibly easy to "zoom" by just getting closer or farther from the subject. I get UWA and tele zooms, but I haven't owned...

I beg to differ. NEX-series cameras are not P&S by any means. They can be used as such, but there's nothing in them that would prevent professional use either.

Still fewer cameras than some DP Forum users!

Looking forward to the tests of that 16-70. A very intriguing lens for daylight shooting. 308 grams, Zeiss design and coatings, what's not to like?

Nice use of Adobe Lightroom "Upright" feature. :-)
