Shot with tripod mounted Nikon D7100. The bee was not moving at all. It was early morning, I assume it was sleeping.

Like many on here I am moved by Ansel Adams. His B&W work was just, to me, amazing. To think he did all that he did without PS, without seeing immediately the image he just took. He was the real deal, old school photographer, and his images have stood the test of time.
This image that I posted I simply converted to B&W then dodged and burned in PS to get the final results. It's no where near an AA, but it's still fun trying to achieve what he did in his images.

  • The card was a transcend card, 45\mbs. It was formatted in camera before shooting. I believe it is the one that came with the camera, It's not that old though, 6 months or so. I now have a sandisk ...
  • I was shooting a wedding and after a shot, which was fine, I took another, but instead of that shot showing up, the previous shot reappeared, I took several more and the same thing, it kept ...

I can now shoot flash off camera and have a nice little setup, SB-910, monopod with a shoot through umbrella for the wedding tomorrow, same location. I use a demb flip-it for diffusion with on ...

expressivecanvas - Thank you very much for your critique, I do agree with the image being to busy and I like the idea of the path pulling the viewer into the image. I should have used that to my ...

Michael - appreciate the suggestions, I will in the future, pay more attention to the backdrop, I'm generally pretty good about that but I was so focused on setting up the pose that I just missed ...

Ok, I did a quick edit and "tried" to duplicate what MyownSoul did, leaning towards his first, more saturated image. I am much happier with this image than the original. This is so much better and ...

Myownsoul - and I'm glad you took my pic an edited it. I really like what you did, my wife loves it. It touches on what the other poster talked about, brightening up that background and getting ...

richiebee - I agree it is a very busy image. I did try in a few edits to blur some area around the subjects, mimic a shallow DOF, that just didn't work though. jkjond - First, that's a great shot ...

Bill, I had tried different crops, some ok and some not. However, I had not tried to boost exp. on the subjects only. That worked nicely, about 1\3 to 1\2 stop bump made them pop, it made a nice ...
