I downsized 1020 file to 13mp and S4 still stumps all over that image. Very disappointing. What is the point of packing all those pixel, I dont get it. Why not just make excellent 8 or 10 MP sensor with superior JPG engine, that stumps over all other cameras. I have 1520 and the camera produces rather disappointing results as well.

FFS. When are camera manufacturers going to start quoting sensor sizes in millimetres? This 1/x.x business is needlessly confusing. OK, so maybe that's the point - big numbers sound more impressive to the inexperienced, even if they have a 1 over them - but still, millimetres (or even millimeters) would make imaging chips a lot easier to compare. It would make it easier to estimate the 35mm equivalent focal length of the lenses, too.

C'mon DPReview - how about you start doing it unilaterally? You're influential enough that maybe you could change industry policy.

Whats real funny, is that we dont even have a full frame sensor with that many pixels. I dont understand the point of this crap. They never perfect 8 mp sensor and went pretty much straight to 40-50. My lumia 1520 20mp cam is crap. that must be a lot worse.

"High-res sensor requires dedicated approach to shooting"

"No in-camera Raw conversion"
....what kind of Cons is that....just enough to make the CONs list as long as the PROs list?

The camera for sure is not perfect, but...com'on thats lime...

Possibly, but Nokia Device Division along with it's patents, now belongs to Microsoft, why would they release Android devices, it just doesn't make any sense.

Aaron801: Wow, tough crowd here... at least some of you. I don't really get the haters here. They're a little bit "greeting card" for me. Still, they're very obviously well done and there's something about them that I have to admire. They're both technically very well done. So many photos I see are impeccably done on a technical level, but somehow don't really show much in the way of the unique vision of the person taking them... in the way that these most certainly do.

Also, what's with the idea that this woman can't possibly live on a farm in Russia and also have a very expensive camera? That's just silly! Russia has lots of poor but also some very wealthy folks, right? We don't really know anything about the photographers background so to make some statement about how she must be some kind of hoax is pretty extreme.... I wound't make these kind of assumptions if this woman was from Ethiopia... Even that country has some wealthy people and some of them undoubtably buy photo equipment.

Aaron, dpreview always had been full of pricks and haters, no big surprise here.

(In the USA, they are a pretty obscure brand.)

Is it essential to go from none to 5 models of Interchangeable lens cameras in 2 years? Lately Fuji is looking more and more like Samsung, "Let cover the world with every possible price point camera and see if we get more market-share"

Marty4650: There is a real problem when you try to treat cell phones like cameras.

You can always replace a camera with a better one, but you can't upgrade your cell phone unless your contract is up or you are willing to pay a huge penalty.

At least, that's the way it works in the USA, We are pretty much locked into a phone for two years.

I have a perfect solution. Get a 3rd line, with Share everything plan :)

Now I can upgrade every 12 months. Got my Lumia 1520 and next October I can get whatever gem will be out at that time :). Also, this extra line doesn't have to go to waste, you can put your child or a parent on it. Someone who doesn't need a fancy phone. Get them a flip phone or a cheap smart phone like $50 dollar Lumia 520

Bjrn SWE: Everybody says that Canon sensors is lagging behind the Nikon (Sony) counterparts and that Canons are no good. Strange thing, I just can't see that in this "Studio Comparison Tool" - the EOS 6D looks just as fine as any of the Nikons, at any ISO. Did I forget to bring my glasses?

I use to be hardcore Nikon fan for years and now I'm a convert. I still have both Nikon and Canon, but man once i bought canon, I kept coming back to it. For me it is the colors and gradation, the files are so smooth, it just does something to the man :))

In this comparison, it is clear that even the cheapest full frame Canon has to offer has a slight edge over nikon in critical sharpness and gradation. I'm pretty impressed. Nikon is the king of noise and focus, but Canon has it's own advantages.

sh10453: I don't believe that the idea behind this lens is taking pictures with it.

Rather, it's an item for collectors; those who will hold onto it, in its brand new condition, for 20, 30, 40, or more years, then it goes to the big and famous auction house, where someone incredibly wealthy (from the 1% who get away with ...?) will bid on it by phone.
It probably will fetch 100 times its current price (by then)!
Who knows! These people are paying a $150 million for a painting (while millions are dying of hunger of course)!

it will never be a collector's edition, if it is mass produced :)
