I see the difference between the number of bluured pictures shot with the D3X and D800. The latter body gives me ca 25% more blurred pics when I shoot macro. This may be due to the higher...

I have five pre-D Nikkors. Although I use them rarely at present, I have not been able to see any difference with the D-Nikkors concerning the exposure or AF.

1. If you use the D800, you need to update your NX2 to the 2.4.0 version (at least).
2. The exposure compensation in the quick fix is only available for nefs, not for jpegs and tiffs. But you can...

No need to worry if you buy a slim type filter (Heliopan, Hoya or BW).

I tried to use a set of three Kenko tubes on 300/4 AF-S. No problem with exposure etc. but because of the lens weight I lost connection between the tubes or between the lens and tubes many times....

Do you mean B&H or B&W filter manufacturer. The latter is here: https://www.schneideroptics.com/Ecommerce/CatalogSubCategoryDisplay.aspx?CID=57

I think that there is no significant difference in qulity between Gitzo and RRS tripods. If you leave in Europe, then the Gitzo tripod would be a better choice because RRS is not very popular here...

You cannot do that. The problem lies in that the two computers use different GPUs and if you calibrate one display, the display profile is not suitable for the other.

You can see the difference in sharpness only at large magnification. The D800E needs less sharpening than the D800 so sometimes you can see a little bit more noise in the D800 pics. This is,...

Just get a SensorSwab mop and do some cleaning. Or you can complain to Nikon and exchange the body for a new one with the left-AF sensor problem instead.

One month is not a long time so the battery shoudn't be damaged. I have four 4a batteries, the oldest one came with the D3 camera in Dec 2007. And all these batteries are still alive showing no...

They use too much lubricant for the mirror mechanism in this and some other Nikon bodies.

If you leave the battery with the zero level of charge for a long time, then the ion battery would be dead.

I'm using both CF and SD SanDisk Extreme Pro cards with the D800 and from my experience the CompactFlash card is faster at both writing and reading. It is, though, almost 2x more expensive.

The Sigma lens is OK for a beginner amateur photographer but prior to any reasonable answer you need to specify what you want to take pics of.

Seems pretty normal to me if this is a 100% crop from one of the farthest corners. The 105 AF-S micro often shows chromatic aberration in the corners.
-
Could you post some samples so that we can see if this is normal or something's wrong with your body-lens combo?

Kenko tubes are ok for 85/1.8. As you do noy nee the 1:1 ratio, even a 36 mm tube will do. The 35 mm lens is not good for FX macro: the distance to the object will be very short and for some...

Shouldn't you push the buttons and simultaneously rotate the whole unit to the right until you get the upright position?
