Silkypix Developer SE (the supplied converter) does a far better job, this is of course not helping with a smooth workflow, but is another pointer that Apples RAW converter is way off....

Hi,
sorry for the late answer, was getting kinda late yesterday (at least here in the Netherlands...)
I will upload the jpg and the raw to a dropbox account and give you the link so that you can...

No, all the Olympus Pen models have in-body-stabilisation, but the OM-D has a new generation which is much more efficient.
-
My JPEG-setting in camera are saturation +1 and Noise reduction off (otherwise everything is standard)
I've also made a test with standard settings, but the RAW still has this over-saturated...

Hi all,
I've noticed a strange color shift when importing RAWs, not sure since when because a great deal of the time I shoot Jpeg. (also because my camera wasn't supported until a short time...

What? Big and lumpy? Ever handled a G5 (or G1/2/3...)? They are pretty small cameras with good ergonomics. For many users the Olympus OM-D is a bit to small, especially when using bigger...
-
Again: The G5 uses the GH2 sensor.... they only disabled the Multi-Aspect-Ratio system and changed the readout method. And the lossless Tele Conversion is also found in the G5 although it is a 2.4...

"An advantage of using the GH2's sensor is that the G6 is able to offer more comprehensive video functions than the G5. " WTF?! The G5 uses the exact same sensor.... and how exactly are video...

The sentence "the G5 is a step down from the GH2 IMO" looked like a stand-alone statement to me, sorry if I misinterpreted that.
This forum would be pretty dull indeed ;-)
Cheers,

Care to explain?
In my opinion the G5 is nicer to hold, LCD is much better, AF works faster, more creative controls (if you care about that sort of thing), menu's are a bit better, picture quality...
-
I would say: try em both, they're pretty different cameras in terms of handling/ergonomics. I'm sure that after a short test run at your local camera store you'll find it much easier to make a...

It's white, because it's overexposed. Pick your lowest ISO (100/200 depends on your camera) and use a small aperture (higher number=smaller opening)
With a small aperture you probably getting...

I'm using a Crumpler Cupcake (don't know which size exactly and I think they are not in the actual line-up from Crumpler)
This is just the right size for my G5, 20mm f1.7, 14-45mm (with lenshood),...

I personally think that 19500 GBP is a lot of money. Studying in the US seems awfully expensive, I hope the salary later on makes it worthwhile.
Here in the Netherlands you'll spend 4-6 years...

Had the 14-42 on my GF3 and on my G5 I have the 14-45.
The 14-45 is somewhat sharper in the corners, but IMHO not enough to justify the much higher price. But it is a nicer lens, the lens mount is...

What happens if you "pre-set" the aperture blades to the desired opening using the preview-function? Shouldn't that deal with the problem?

here's a nice link: http://m43photo.blogspot.nl/2012/04/defished-fisheye-compared-with-ultra.html

My first m4/2 cam was a GF3, which came with the 14-42mm and for me (I'm not a pixel peeper) is was a pretty normal kit-lens.For my G5 I've bought the 14-45mm and picture-quality wise it isn't that...

It seems they re-introduced Dynamic B&W with the G5 (now called Dynamic Monochrome).

Cameras are your hobby, that's why you care about it and talk to others about thier cameras. If your hobby of choice was about cars, computers, TVs, etc. you wouldn't care about your camera or what...
