for those of you that didn't get the memo..the 1DXMK2 and D5 cameras are action/sports oriented cameras that will serve their intented markets EXTREMELY WELL,,it is a fact these 2 flagship cameras will outperform every other camera in regards to action/sports photography. How many mirrorless cameras do you see on the sidelines at NFL,MLB,SOCCER/TENNIS?,,NONE..For studio shooters/portraits/landscapes/still photography canon and Nikon offer other types of equipment that do a better job(canon 5dsr and Nikon d810)

WOW..didn't take long for the haters to come out..sorry haters the nikon d500 is an AWESOME aps-c camera ..so is the canon 7dm2 and will fullfill the needs of its INTENDED audience VERY WELL.the nikon d500/7dmk2 will be on the sidelines at major sporting events like the NFL.MLB etc. etc..as a back up to cameras like the d4/d5 and eos 1d series

the 3 year old canon 6d ff and 3y/o d600/d610 with small primes are a much better option

again,no disrespect to leica and their fan base..but after seeing these samples..I'M NOT IMPRESSED,my recently purchased nikon d750 absolutely destroys this very expensive leica and way overpriced kit zoom lens..damm.for those on a budget the very affordable nikon d610 and short nikkor primes is a killer combo that will wipe the floor with this leica in the iq department..and dont forget canon's equally affordable and outstanding 6d...dont even try to compare this leica to the canon 5ds/r nikon 810 or the new 42mp sony.

as i commented before, i had a feeling that the VERY AFFORDABLE canon eos 6d/nikon d610/d750 would have better iq than the leica...after seeing these samples.. the entry level ff cameras from nikon and canon are much better...OUCH

no disrespect to leica and their fans..but a canon 6d or nikon d750 with sharp glass is a better option..have you seen the excellent iq out of the very affordable canon 6d/nikon d610 and nikon d750?

DAMM...a very "handsome" looking camera..and that lens..wow..i want to see side by side samples from this camera vs the new 50mp canon 5d's..and nikon d810

as expected, class leading detail and resolution from the canon 5dr,,,but I see a bit too much noise at base iso...is dpr using compressed raw files from this canon as the Nikon d810 file sizes are LARGER.the canon 5dr will sell extremely well for canon, the nikon d810 is a very strong contender and may have better overall iq..with less resolution.happy for the canon fans as they finally have their high rez canon.the 5dr in the hands of skilled photographers will produce stunning images

as a Nikon user(d700/d300s/d2h)I recently shot my friend's 7dm2 for a short period,it is a great performance camera in regards to fps,af and overall handling/speed and will serve its intended market very well..I LIKE IT A LOT...iq wise the Nikon d7100 AND pentax k3 are better..my colleague is a die hard canon fanboy..and he wishes the 7d2 had the excellent sony exmor sensor for the imaging pipeline..YES the sony sensors are that good

On article Nikon D610 Review (404 comments in total)

did not take long for the 6d defenders to chime in.this site has reviewed both cameras in depth and rated d600/610 higher mainly because it is a higher specification camera with equal iq.6d has built in wifi/gps..optional on 610,6d has better live view and video implementation and excellent center af point.610 shoots faster, more af crosspoints, built in flash(very usefull for firing(wirelessly)nikon speedlights, dual card slots(very usefull) af assist light,CLASS leading sensor and the ability to link its spot meter to any af points..something that no canon camera can do except for the $5k-6K 1d series

WOW..i get the feeling that this new sigma lens will embarass the "super nikkor 58mm 1.4"..and the canon equivalent 50 mm 1.4.. in both cases "L" stands for less.WAY TO GO SIGMA

no disrespect to the "mighty" 58mm 1.4..with NANO coating..but my old 50mm 1.8d af nikkor ($99 us dollars..plus tax) is very, very sharp once i step it down to 2.5 and stays sharp all the way up..best 99 dollars i ever spent .sorry nikon..not impressed with the 58 1.4g

seems to me that the nikonians are more receptive to this lens than the canonites..are the canon guys in denial?..YES the super canon 24-70 is superb..so is the tamron at a more affordable price..same applies to the nikon version..GREAT TO HAVE AFFORDABLE OPTIONS..if you're into extreme pixel peeping at 200% ..get the canon or nikon version
