Yep. One thing to watch out if you're reading this and you're thinking of hunting down a Takumar 1,4/50 for your Canon full-frame...don't! The mirror will slap the rear of the glass if focussed...

Pentax was/is a bayonet mount. You're thinking of M39 & M42 mounts, the latter Pentax also used back in the day.

Aye...but don't be afraid of some Russian goodies (Jupiter, MIR, Helios can be interesting). Also look for names like Trioplan, Primoplan, Tair for 15-20 aperture-blade goodness!

Great tip! Although with the caveat that this adaptor probably costs about 10 times more than those no-name mechanical ones on Ebay.

Obviously. I meant the M42 "mount" produced all those lenses.
It's just figurative language. I've got about 20 lenses with that mount myself.
